A cross sectional study ( cross-sectional study ) anthropometric data and percentile profile of students at an elementary school in the district of Batang Padang , Perak was conducted . Students are aged between seven and eleven years. Respondents were first year students until year five . Sample of 354 respondents was divided into groups according to gender and year of study. Analysis of the data used is descriptive statistics . Mean weight, height and BMI were obtained for each group of students . Distribution percentile for each group were analyzed population-based study . Percentile of the distribution was compared with the distribution percentile daripadaUS Centers for Disease Control and Prevention ( CDC ) . Three percentile levels were used , 5 % , 85 % and 95 % , respectively, were accepted as the cutoff point to categorize underweight , ideal weight and overweight categories . Obesity is defined as a BMI of more than 95 % . There is a difference between the percentile distribution of the study with the distribution of the data obtained from CDC . Percentage of students who have health problems based on different percentiles of the study also obtained based on the percentage of the CDC charts . |
