Abstract : Perpustakaan Tuanku Bainun |
The study aimed to identify the obstacles to the application of e-training in
training centers in the Sultanate of Oman from the point of view of trainers,
trainers’ assistants, and training specialists. The study employed a
quantitative descriptive method, in which a questionnaire comprising 36
items across various fields of study was used, after confirming the
authenticity of the performance through the consensus of 80% of the referees
and validating it using the Cronbach’s alpha coefficient, this questionnaire
was applied to the study sample, which consisted of 174 individuals (males
N= 80 and Females N=94) in the academic year 2021-2022. The key findings
of the study revealed that the degree of obstacles to the application of etraining
in training centers, from the perspective of the study sample, was
high, with an overall percentage of (70%). Regarding the types of obstacles,
material obstacles ranked first with a percentage of (78.4%), followed by
technical obstacles at (73.8%), both considered high. Human obstacles
ranked last with a percentage of (62.4%), assessed at a moderate level. Using
a t-test, no statistically significant differences were found at a significance
level of (0.05 ≥ α) between the estimates of the study sample regarding
obstacles to the application of e-training in training and professional
development centers in the Sultanate of Oman,. Moreover, no statistically
significant differences were observed in the gender variable for both material
and technical obstacles. However, statistically significant differences were
found in the human obstacle’s axis, favoring males. Concerning the study
recommendations, the research emphasized the need for the Ministry of
Education to coordinate with relevant communication authorities to address
technical issues with the Internet in training centers, allocate a sufficient
budget to enable these centers to provide tools related to e-training, form a
specialized committee to study the obstacles to e-training application,
develop appropriate solutions, and create a clear strategic plan for e-training,
which should be continuously evaluated. |
