Abstract : Perpustakaan Tuanku Bainun
Kajian ini bertujuan untuk memahami pengetahuan peribumi, membangunkan dan menguji keberkesanan Modul Membaca Sekolah Rimba terhadap murid Orang Asli Semai. Kajian ini adalah berbentuk kajian campuran iaitu bagi kajian kualitatif, pengkaji menggunakan persampelan bertujuan melalui protokol temu bual semistruktur terhadap lima orang guru Bahasa Melayu Sekolah Kebangsaan Asli, dua orang pentadbir sekolah serta dua orang pemimpin masyarakat. Bagi kajian kuantitatif, kaedah kuasi-eksperimen menggunakan ujian pra dan ujian pasca dijalankan keseluruhannya kepada 30 orang kumpulan kawalan dan 30 orang kumpulan rawatan yang dipilih secara rawak di tiga buah sekolah di Perak. Borang ]pemerhatian digunakan untuk melihat sikap, motivasi dan minat murid terhadap modul. Kebolehpercayaan instrumen ujian menggunakan nilai alpha Cronbach iaitu 0.781. Setelah memperoleh pengesahan enam orang pakar, modul dibangunkan menggunakan model ADDIE. Dapatan kajian temu bual menunjukkan lima tema utama yang diterapkan ke dalam modul: (i) teknik pengajaran (ii) topik pembelajaran berdasarkan alam sekitar, (iii) tumbuh-tumbuhan dan haiwan sebagai bahan pembelajaran, (iv) aktiviti berasaskan permainan dan (v) elemen tarian. Dapatan kajian pemerhatian terhadap sikap murid mendapati tiga daripada lima item memperoleh 100%, manakala dua item memperoleh 66.7%. Bagi pemerhatian sikap dan minat murid, kesemua item memperoleh 100%. Data kuantitatif dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan inferensi seperti min, sisihan piawai, peratus dan ujian Wilcoxon. Hasil kajian menunjukkan tidak terdapat perbezaan yang signifikan antara ujian pra dan ujian pasca untuk semua kumpulan kawalan iaitu Sekolah A p=1.000. Sekolah B p=0.336 dan Sekolah C p= 0.176. Bagaimanapun, terdapat berbezaan yang signifikan antara ujian pra dan ujian pasca bagi kumpulan rawatan di Sekolah A p=0.028, Sekolah B p=0.005 dan Sekolah C p=0.043. Kesimpulannya, kajian ini berjaya membina satu modul khusus untuk murid Orang Asli Semai, mempunyai kesahan mencukupi serta berkesan dalam meningkatkan kemahiran membaca dan minat belajar. Implikasi kajian adalah terhadap aspek membaca dan murid Orang Asli Semai dapat menjamin kelestarian pengetahuan peribumi mereka.
