Abstract : Perpustakaan Tuanku Bainun |
Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji masalah membaca bahasa Tamil dalam kalangan murid bukan penutur natif di Sekolah Kebangsaan di negeri-negeri Zon Utara, Malaysia, sambil mengenalpasti faktor-faktor penyumbang kepada masalah tersebut. Penyelidikan ini turut melibatkan penggunaan Modul Bacaan Kaedah Fonik Bahasa Tamil yang telah dibangunkan khusus oleh pengkaji untuk menangani masalah membaca yang dikenalpasti. Rekabentuk kajian tindakan eksperimen digunakan untuk melibatkan responden kajian, termasuk 114 murid bukan penutur natif bahasa Tamil dan 23 guru bahasa Tamil dari 23 Sekolah Kebangsaan di Zon Utara, Malaysia. Instrumen kajian termasuk ujian pra, ujian pasca, pemerhatian berstruktur, dan temubual separa berstruktur. Pendekatan Fuzzy Delphi Method (FDM) digunakan untuk mengesahkan konstruk dan sub konstruk untuk modul membaca. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan kaedah kualitatif dan kuantitatif melalui perisian ATLAS.ti 9 dan SPSS versi 29. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa masalah membaca dalam kalangan murid bukan penutur natif bahasa Tamil melibatkan aspek seperti tidak mengenal huruf, kesalahan sebutan, penggunaan gaya sebutan bahasa ibunda, dan masalah dalam penggabungan bunyi. Faktor-faktor penyumbang kepada masalah membaca merangkumi faktor individu, psikologi, persekitaran, masa pengajaran dan pembelajaran, serta kaedah pengajaran guru.
