Abstract : Perpustakaan Tuanku Bainun
Pelbagai aspek perlu diambil kira bagi memastikan tempat kerja mempunyai budaya keselamatan yang positif. Oleh itu, kajian ini mengkaji perbezaan iklim keselamatan dalam kalangan pekerja pengurusan dan barisan hadapan yang bekerja di Pejabat Kesihatan daerah (PKD) di Terengganu, Malaysia. Persekitaran kerja yang selamat akan mengelakkan kemalangan di tempat kerja serta meningkatkan budaya keselamatan di tempat kerja. Di Malaysia, masih berlaku kemalangan di tempat kerja yang menyebabkan kehilangan nyawa pekerja. Oleh itu, kita perlu mengkaji iklim keselamatan dan meningkatkan budaya keselamatan di tempat kerja di Malaysia. Kajian ini melibatkan dua Pejabat Kesihatan Daerah iaitu Pejabat Kesihatan Daerah Kuala Nerus dan Kuala Terengganu. Seramai 50 orang responden terdiri daripada kakitangan yang bertugas di Unit Vektor di setiap Pejabat Kesihatan Daerah terlibat. Setiap data responden diperoleh dengan menggunakan Borang Iklim Keselamatan NOSACQ-50 (Nordic Safety Climate Questionnaire) telah diedarkan kepada responden untuk mendapatkan maklumat demografi dan menjawab soalan Iklim Keselamatan. Hasil daripada dapatan kajian, iklim keselamatan keseluruhan di kedua-dua PKD berada pada tahap yang agak rendah. Penilaian menunjukkan Dimensi 5 iaitu Keutamaan keselamatan dan risiko tidak diterima oleh pekerja berada pada tahap yang paling rendah (2.15) dan memerlukan peningkatan yang besar untuk pembaikan. Manakala bagi lima dimensi yang lain iaitu Dimensi 1, 2, 3, 4, dan 7 (Keutamaan komitmen dan kecekapan keselamatan pengurusan, Pemerkasaan aspek keselamatan oleh pihak pengurusan, Keselamatan pengurusan keadilan, Komitmen keselamatan pekerja dan Kepercayaan pekerja terhadap keberkesanan sistem keselamatan) berada pada tahap yang agak rendah dan memerlukan peningkatan penambahbaikan tertentu. Akhir sekali, Dimensi 6 iaitu komunikasi, pembelajaran dan kepercayaan terhadap kompetensi rakan sekerja berada pada tahap yang agak baik. Oleh itu, pihak pengurusan perlu meningkatkan lagi kualiti pengurusan keselamatan pekerjaan supaya iklim keselamatan berada pada tahap yang optimum dan menjamin budaya keselamatan yang positif terutamanya di fasiliti kesihatan umumnya.
