Abstract : Perpustakaan Tuanku Bainun
Penyelidikan ini bertujuan mengkaji tentang perkembangan pembudayaan fotografi seni halus di Malaysia melalui perspektif pembudayaan visual digital pascamoden. Secara spesifik, penyelidikan ini meneliti sudut perkembangan dan ontologi fotografi seni halus Malaysia melalui pengamatan terhadap perubahan dan peralihan dunia fotografi masa kini. Sehubungan dengan itu, kajian ini menjelaskan kedudukan representasi fotografi yang sebelum ini terkenal dengan realiti imejan tetapi namun kini berubah apabila representasi fotografi beralih kepada media digital. Penyelidikan ini mengetengahkan teori Henry Jenkins berkenaan dengan proses dan pengayaan pembudayaan terkini masa kini yang mempunyai pengaruh pemusatan teknologi dalam penghasilannya serta implikasi fotografi digital masa kini. Seramai tujuh orang pakar telah ditemu bual bagi membincangkan berkenaan dengan prospek, kepentingan perubahan dan peralihan media fotografi Malaysia. Hasil data temu bual dianalisis melalui perisian NVivo dengan menggunakan kaedah analisis tematik. Kajian ini mengesahkan bahawa seni fotografi Malaysia sebenarnya mempunyai konteks pembudayaannya yang boleh dibahagikan kepada lapan tema utama pembudayaan fotografi seni halus digital pascamoden. Pengakhiran disertasi ini turut merumuskan bahawa pembudayaan fotografi seni halus digital dapat dibincangkan berdasarkan percantuman model teori budaya pemusatan dan model konteks penerimaan teknologi. Penyelidikan yang dijalankan memberikan implikasi bahawa budaya fotografi digital sebenarnya membawa satu pemaknaan baharu yang perlu diteliti dan dilihat secara langsung, terutamanya melibatkan aspek-aspek imejan, realiti dan budaya seni fotografi digital itu sendiri. Secara dasarnya, hasil kajian ini membuka perspektif penelitian baharu ke atas budaya digital yang sebaris dengan profesionalisme fotografi pada masa kini. Selain itu, kajian pada masa hadapan berkenaan dengan kesenian fotografi seni halus digital perlu dilihat melalui perspektif khusus yang bukan hanya berupaya membincangkan indexical dan imej itu sendiri, malah juga memberikan satu takrifan baharu terhadap pengkajian visual itu sendiri.
