ABSTRAK Kepesatan proses urbanisasi yang berlaku dan diiringi pula dengan peningkatan jumlah penduduk telah menyebabkan pertambahan kenderaan persendirian dalam bandar. Kesannya ialah berlakunya masalah kesesakan jalan raya yang serius pada waktu puncak. Populasi Klang dan Petaling Jaya ialah 3.3 juta penduduk dan jumlah ini akan terus bertambah. Bagi mengurangkan masalah ini, pihak kerajaan telah membelanjakan 23 billion bagi membiayai kos pembinaan pengangkutan rel bandar sebagai pengangkutan alternatif kepada pengguna. Di samping berperanan sebagai pengangkutan alternatif, MRT juga membawa impak tidak langsung lain. Salah satunya ialah perubahan corak guna tanah di sepanjang laluannya. Justeru, objektif artikel ini adalah untuk menganalisis perubahan corak guna tanah yang mungkin berlaku disebabkan oleh pembinaan sistem MRT di Cheras, Kuala Lumpur bagi tahun 2010 dan 2020. Imej satelit Landsat 7 ETM+ telah digunakan dalam kajian bagi tahun 2010 dan 2020 serta data sekunder. Guna tanah di kawasan kajian telah dikelaskan kepada lima kelas: tepu bina, tanah lapang, hutan, pertanian dan badan air. Pengelasan gunatanah kepada lima jenis utama ini memudahkan pengurusan dan perancangan tanah, serta memastikan standardisasi yang konsisten. Dalam kajian ini, kaedah pengkelasan berselia digunakan untuk mengelaskan imej satelit Landsat 7 ETM+ menggunakan perisian ArcGIS 10.8. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa berlakunya perubahan corak guna tanah sebanyak 87.34% bagi tepu bina, -94.49% bagi badan air, 3904.81% bagi hutan, -92.77% bagi pertanian dan -0.84% bagi tanah lapang. Rumusan yang dapat dibuat ialah pembinaan sistem MRT telah membawa kepada perubahan corak guna tanah di kawasan Cheras, Kuala Lumpur.
