Abstract : Perpustakaan Tuanku Bainun
This study explores the effectiveness of a game-based learning tool, the *Ka Sa Ta Pa* game, in enhancing students_ understanding of *Vali Mikumidam* (strengthened consonant places) in Tamil grammar. Recognizing the challenges students face in mastering complex grammatical rules through traditional methods, this research introduces an interactive approach aimed at secondary school students studying Tamil as a language subject. Utilizing a quasi-experimental design with pre-tests and post-tests, the study evaluates the game's impact on students' comprehension and retention of *Vali Mikumidam*. Findings indicate a significant improvement in post-test scores, suggesting that the game fosters a better grasp of grammar through engaging and hands-on learning. The study highlights the potential of game-based tools to address specific language learning difficulties, providing insights for educators and policymakers in implementing innovative methods within the Tamil language curriculum. Limitations and suggestions for future research are also discussed, including adapting game-based tools for broader applications within language education.
