Abstract : Perpustakaan Tuanku Bainun
Kajian ini telah dijalankan bagi menentukan pengaruh faktor ekonomi dan bukan ekonomi terhadap kebarangkalian kejayaan atau kegagalan dalam permohonan tuntutan insurans kesihatan dan perubatan di Malaysia dengan mengguna pakai teori tingkah laku pengguna Howard-Sheth. Instrumen kajian ini adalah set borang soal selidik.Persampelan yang digunakan dalam proses kutipan data adalah secara rawak bersasar (purposive). Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan model regresi logistik berbilang dalam menganalisis data. Bagi tujuan mencapai objektif kajian, 6 model pengukuran telah dibangunkan yang terdiri daripada Model 1(Model Bukan Ekonomi- Berjaya) dan model 2 (Model Bukan Ekonomi-Gagal), model 3 (Model Ekonomi- Berjaya) dan model 4 (Model Ekonomi-Gagal), model 5 (Model Gabungan Ekonomi dan Bukan Ekonomi-Berjaya) dan 6 (Model Gabungan Ekonomi dan Bukan Ekonomi- Gagal). Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa pada model Bukan Ekonomi, faktor jantina (_4=2.028-Model 1) dan pendidikan (_3=0.493 -Model 2) memainkan peranan utama di dalam penentuan kejayaan dan kegagalan dalam tuntutan insurans kesihatan dan perubatan. Pada model 3 dan 4 pula, dapatan kajian menenjukkan bahawa faktor pembayaran premium (_5=1.781-Model 3) dan (_4=0.561 -Model 4) sahaja yang mempengaruhi kejayaan dan kegagalan dalam tuntutan insurans. Selanjutnya, dapatan kajian pada model 5 dan 6 mendapati bahawa faktor jantina (_5=2.078-Model 5) dan (_4=0.481-Model 6) sahaja yang mempengaruhi kejayaan dan kegagalan dalam tuntutan insurans. Kesemua model pengukuran tidak menunjukkan bukti bahawa faktor pendapatan memainkan peranan utama di dalam penentuan gagal atau berjaya di dalam tuntutan insurans kesihatan dan perubatan. Penemuan ini mempunyai implikasi penting untuk memahami dan sedar terhadap risiko tuntutan insurans kesihatan dan perubatan adalah penting. Insurans mungkin merangsang penjagaan kesihatan, membawa akibat negatif yang tidak seimbang kepada populasi yang kurang bernasib baik, terutamanya apabila peratusan yang tinggi daripada pembayaran saku diperlukan.
