| Kertas ini melaporkan suatu kajian tentang keberkesanan penggunaan modul kartun dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran biologi tingkatan 4. Suatu metodologi campuran (mixed methodology) digunakan: reka bentuk kajian kuasi eksperimental pra ujian dan pasca ujian melibatkan sejumlah 58 orang pelajar (29 orang pelajar dalam kumpulan eksperimental dan 29 orang pelajar dalam kumpulan kawalan) digunakan untuk menentukan sejauh mana penggunaan modul kartun memberi kesan terhadap pencapaian dalam biologi manakala kaedah temu bual kumpulan fokus (focus group interview) digunakan untuk mendapatkan pandangan pelajar terhadap penggunaan modul kartun dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran biologi. Data kajian dianalisis dengan menggunakan kaedah ANCOVA (analysis of covariance) dan hasil dapatan kajian menunjukkan tidak terdapat perbezaan yang signifikan (F = 1.14, p = .29 > .05) di antara pencapaian biologi bagi kumpulan pelajar yang diajar menggunakan modul kartun berbanding dengan pencapaian biologi kumpulan pelajar yang diajar dengan kaedah konvensional. Dalam pada itu, analisis data temu bual tentang pandangan pelajar terhadap penggunaan modul kartun dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran biologi mendapati terdapat tujuh tema utama yang diutarakan oleh pelajar-pelajar yang menggunakan modul kartun tersebut dan tema-tema tersebut merangkumi aspek pertambahan minat, pengintegrasian bersama buku teks, pengupayaan pelajar, peningkatan prestasi, peranan guru, penjimatan masa, dan peningkatan sikap positif.
