Abstract : Perpustakaan Tuanku Bainun
Kajian ini bertujuan untuk meneroka penerapan nilai dalam pengajaran matematik dalam kalangan guru matematik sekolah menengah di Malaysia. Kajian ini melibatkan tiga orang guru matematik tingkatan empat dari dua buah sekolah menengah di negeri Selangor. Data kualitatif diperoleh melalui pemerhatian pengajaran bilik darjah, temu bual secara individu, catatan lapangan dan dokumen pengajaran. Kesemua sesi pengajaran dirakam menggunakan alat perakam video, manakala temu bual dirakam menggunakan alat perakam audio. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa kesemua guru tidak melaksanakan penerapan nilai pendidikan matematik secara eksplisit. Kesemua guru yang terlibat menjelaskan tentang penerapan nilai pendidikan matematik dalam pengajaran hanya setelah ditanya dalam temu bual pra dan pasca pengajaran. Nilai pendidikan matematik yang diterap secara implisit termasuklah nilai formalistik, instrumental, relevan, teoretikal, kebolehcapaian dan penilaian. Tambahan lagi, kesemua guru yang terlibat menunjukkan kecenderungan yang rendah dalam penerapan nilai pendidikan matematik seperti nilai aktivis, relational dan penaakulan juga yang penting untuk menggalakkan pemikiran kritikal dan aktif dalam kalangan pelajar. Kata Kunci: Nilai pendidikan matematik, nilai formalistik, nilai instrumental, nilai relevan, nilai teoretikal, nilai kebolehcapaian dan nilai penilaian.
