Abstract : |
Designing curriculum for the teaching of English is no easy task considering the challenges that await the teachers in the classroom. After being trained with the most recent approaches and methodologies, these teachers are expected to be able to handle the students with high level of motivation and dedication. The paper discusses the issue of learner variability (LV) that has to be given utmost attention by curriculum developers in order to produce capable teachers teaching the subjects in schools. It also discusses the learner variability factor in helping teachers understand the teaching and learning process better. A proposed TESL program will be discussed as an example of how LV can make existing program at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris(UPSI) more viable and effective. |
