A new herbicide nanocomposite, namely zinc layered hydroxide-cloprop nanocomposite have been synthesized by using direct reaction method. PXRD pattern showed an expansion of interlayer spacing with the value of 22.7 A and an evident from FTIR and elemental analyses showed that cloprop was successfully intercalated between the interlayers of zinc layered hydroxide. Controlled release of cloprop anion from interlayer of nanocomposites for zinc layered hydroxide-cloprop nanocomposite into phosphate, carbonate and chloride solutions were rapid initially and slows thereafter.The release profile of cloprop from zinc layered hydroxide-cloprop nanocomposite into the chloride solution and phosphate solution nicely followed the diffusion release model. On the other hand, the release of cloprop into the aqueous solution containing carbonate showed a good fitting with pseudo-second order model as evident by high. |
