This research concentrated on providing the extensions of what is being taught in the classroom, confront embedded misconceptions directly and making learning integrated and holistic. The purpose of this project was to develop and evaluate the HTML-based courseware of chemistry in natural phenomena – “Chemistry Around Us !” as an additional source of teaching and learning in Basic Chemistry. This research involving five phases of works including Analysis of Source Materials, Prototype Design, Prototype Developing, Evaluation of Prototype and Report Writing. The development of the courseware was done using Windows-based Macromedia Dreamweaver, Apple Macintosh iMovie and GarageBand as the key softwares. The Courseware comprises of fourteen main topics, which total of 59 articles, ranging from natural phenomena, mystery, daily life activity, application in industry / household and history. In order for effective teaching and efficient learning, the interface had a balanced of the component features such as variety of themes, audio and video, proper text, colour, graphics, navigation and feedback. Data from 95 respondents has shown that majority of the respondents agree that this courseware is very suitable as an additional teaching tools. This is proven from the high mean value obtained, which is 3.40 and 3.65 (on the 4-point Likert scale) based on its content and presentation, respectively.
