Title :Pengurusan sisa elektrik dan elektronik (e-sisa) dalam kalangan isi rumah: kajian kes Wilayah Persekutuan Labuan

Abstract :
Artikel ini berkaitan senario pengurusan e-sisa di Wilayah Persekutuan Labuan yang mana tumpuannya adalah pengurusan e-sisa daripada isi rumah. Pengurusan e-sisa secara sistematik sepatutnya merangkumi pengurusan e-sisa daripada industri dan isi rumah. Walau bagaimanapun, di Malaysia pengurusan e-sisa yang dijanakan daripada isi rumah tidak diurus dengan baik menyebabkan kesan yang negatif kepada alam sekitar dan manusia. Kajian ini mempunyai dua objektif iaitu pertama mengenal pasti tingkah laku isi rumah dan kedua menilai tahap pengetahuan isi rumah mengenai e-sisa. Kajian ini menggunakan borang soal selidik sebagai instrumen utama yang telah diedarkan kepada 100 responden yang terdiri daripada isi rumah. Analisis deskriptif seperti frekuensi dan crosstabs digunakan untuk menganalisis data kajian untuk menjawab objektif kajian. Hasil kajian menunjukkan terdapat banyak sebab penggantian peralatan elektronik dilakukan oleh responden. Selain itu, responden juga lebih memilih untuk melupus peralatan elektronik terpakai bersama dengan sampah domestik berbanding dengan cara yang lain seperti televisyen (28%), komputer (13%), laptop (15%), telefon bimbit (27%), mesin basuh (25%), ketuhar (17%) dan penyaman udara (15%) yang telah dibuang ke tong sampah. Hasil kajian ini juga menunjukkan pengetahuan mengenai e-sisa dalam kalangan responden masih rendah. Oleh itu, diharapkan kajian ini dapat memperlihatkan senario pengurusan e-sisa isi rumah di Wilayah Persekutuan Labuan
