Abstract : Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris |
Tujuan utama kajian ini adalah untuk mengenal pasti hubungan antara konsep diri dan
sokongan ibu bapa dengan pencapaian akademik pelajar Kolej Vokasional Slim River. Sebelum itu,
kajian itu juga mengkaji prestasi akademik mereka yang berasaskan jantina dan Status Sosioekonomi
(SSE) mereka. Hasil analisis Independent t-test menunjukkan tidak terdapat perbezaan yang
signifikan antara prestasi akademik lelaki (M = 3.243, SP = 0.92) dan perempuan (M = 3.240, SP =
1.16) pada t = 0.190, p = 0.05). Analisis juga menunjukkan tidak terdapat perbezaan yang signifikan
antara prestasi akademik bagi kumpulan SSE tinggi, SSE sederhana dan SSE rendah yang ditentukan
melalui ujian ANOVA (F (2,88) = 12.088, p = 0.05). Sementara itu, keputusan analisis korelasi
Pearson Moment menunjukkan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara prestasi akademik pelajar
dengan konsep diri (r = 0.960) dan sokongan ibu bapa (r = 0.901). Sebagai kesimpulan, konsep diri
dan sokongan ibu bapa merupakan faktor yang menentukan prestasi akademik pelajar Vokasional dan ini
memberikan implikasi penting kepada pelbagai pihak untuk merangka program
yang berkaitan dengan perkara tersebut.
