Abstract : Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris
Kajian ini  bertujuan untuk  mengenal  pasti  hubungan di antara gaya keibubapaan berpendidikan tinggi dengan tahap kecerdasan emosi kanak-kanak tadika. Pendekatan kuantitatif  dengan reka bentuk tinjauan telah digunakan dalam kajian ini. Pemilihan lokasi kajian melibatkan  tiga buah tadika yang dipilih secara rawak dan bertujuan di daerah Petaling Utama, Selangor. Subjek  kajian terdiri daripada 50 orang kanak-kanak tadika yang berumur enam tahun dan mempunyai ibu atau  bapa yang berpendidikan tinggi. Tiga jenis instrumen telah digunakan dalam kajian ini iaitu  Parenting Practices Questionnaire (PPQ) dan Active Parenting Publisher (APP) untuk mengenal pasti  jenis gaya keibubapaan ibu bapa berpendidikan tinggi, dan The Sullivan Emotional Intelligent Scale  for Children (EISC) untuk melihat tahap kecerdasan emosi kanak- kanak tadika. Kajian ini juga  menggunakan Berkeley Puppet Interview (BPI) sebagai medium perantara semasa mengumpul data.  Analisis deskriptif menjelaskan tahap kecerdasan emosi kanak-kanak tadika, manakala analisis  inferensi pula melibatkan ujian korelasi yang menerangkan hubungan antara pembolehubah kajian.  Dapatan kajian menunjukkan gaya keibubapaan yang paling tinggi adalah gaya keibubapaan autoritarian  dan tahap kecerdasan emosi keseluruhan kanak-kanak tadika berada di tahap yang sederhana. Analisis  korelasi pula menunjukkan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan (p = 0.000 < α 0.05 2-tailed) antara  kesemua gaya keibubapaan (r autoritarian = 0.757, r autoritatif = 0.783, r permisif = 0.798) dengan tahap kecerdasan emosi kanak- kanak  tadika di daerah Petaling Utama, Selangor. Selain itu, dapatan kajian juga menunjukkan terdapat  hubungan yang signifikan (p = 0.000 < α 0.05 2-tailed) antara gaya keibubapaan berpendidikan tinggi  (autoritarian) dengan setiap domain dalam kecerdasan emosi (r tahu mengenal emosi = 0.590, r tahu  memahami emosi = 0.575, r tahu mengawal emosi = 0.575, r tahu mengguna emosi = 0.448).  Kesimpulannya, kajian ini menunjukkan bahawa jenis gaya keibubapaan yang diamalkan oleh ibu bapa  memberi kesan kepada tahap kecerdasan emosi kanak-kanak tadika. Implikasinya, kajian menunjukkan  bahawa tahap kecerdasan emosi kanak-kanak tadika bergantung kepada jenis gaya keibubapaan yang diamalkan oleh ibu bapa mereka.
