Masalah di kalangan guru-guru sekolah rendah sedikit sebanyak meruntuhkan semangat dan sikap guru
untuk mendidik generasi pelajar dengan bersungguh-sungguh. Semangat dan sikap sedemikian luntur
sedikit demi sedikit akibat tiada kepuasan bekerja di kalangan mereka. Tahap kepuasan
kerja yang rendah juga turut mempengaruhi moral serta motivasi dan seterusnya
membantutkan potensi guru sebagai pendidik. Pelbagai masalah dalaman menyebabkan golongan
guru kecewa dengan bidang mereka .Tujuan kajian ini adalah untuk mengesan tahap kepuasan
kerja di kalangan guru-guru sekolah rendah di kawasan Bating Padang, Perak. Kajian
ini berdasarkan kepuasan bekerja khusus berasaskan beberapa dimensi pekerjaan seperti
suasana kerja, gaji, kenaikan pangkat, corak kepimpinan guru besar, rakan sekerja, tingkah laku
pelajar dan kepuasan bekerja secara menyeluruh dan kepuasan bekerja secara umum. Hasil
kajian ini juga sekali gus dapat melihat faktor-faktor yang dapat meramal tahap kepuasan
kerja atau ketidakpuasan kerja di kalangan guru-guru sekolah rendah di kawasan Batang Padang.
Seramai 300 orang responden telah menjawab dan mengembalikan soal selidik untuk
dianalisis. Korelasi Pearson-r menunjukkan bahawa suasana pekerjaan, gaji, kenaikan
pangkat, corak kepimpinan guru besar, rakan sekerja, tingkah laku pelajar mempunyai korelasi
yang signifikan dengan kepuasan bekerja di antara guru-guru di tiga jenis sekolah
rendah tetapi faktor jantina dan pengalaman bekerja tidak signifikan
ditunjukkan oleh guru-guru sekolah rendah. Hasil kajian ini menunjukkan faktor-faktor berbeza
mempengaruhi tahap kepuasan kerja guru mengikut status guru di sekolah
rendah.
