This was a survey research which investigated five important issues concerning intention of computer integration among trainee teachers UPSI. The first issue was concerned with the levels Computer Attitudes (CA), Computer Teaching Efficacy (CTE) and Intention to Integrate Computer in Teaching and Learning (ICTL) based on the selected demographic and personal background and the different before and after attending the Instructional Design and Technology course (KPT 2063). The second and third were concerned with the effects of CA and CTE towards ICTL. The fourth was concerned with the mediating effects of CA on relationship between CTE and ICTL. The final was concerned with the best predictor for computer use. A set of questionnaire was used as the research instrument. The samples consisted of trainee teachers who have taken KPT 2063 course in Group L, K, Q and C. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics (factor analysis and regression analysis). The findings showed that trainee teachers have achieved higher CA, CTE and ICTL after attending the course and demographic and personal background influenced its levels. CA and CTE had significant effects on ICTL. Finding has shown that CA has mediating impacts on the relationships between CTE and ICTL. The final findings had shown that Personal Computer Teaching Efficacy (PCTE) was the best predictor for computer use for planning, assessment and communication purposes. Computer Usefulness was the best predictor for computer use for instructional purposes. In short, the study provided wider implications for theory development, practices and policymaking that can be associated with the intention of computer integration among trainee teachers. |
