Abstract : Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris |
Kajian ini bertujuan membandingkan peribahasa yang mengandungi metafora haiwan
dalam bahasa Melayu dan bahasa Uzbek. Kajian ini menggunakan kaedah kualitatif dengan reka
bentuk analisis teks. Sebanyak 26 peribahasa dalam bahasa Melayu dan
26 peribahasa dalam bahasa Uzbek telah digunakan sebagai sampel kajian ini. Peribahasa
tersebut diambil daripada peribahasa yang melibatkan lima jenis haiwan iaitu anjing, ayam,
ular, kambing dan ikan. Lima haiwan ini dipilih kerana kelima – limanya banyak digunakan dalam
peribahasa bahasa Melayu dan bahasa Uzbek. Lima haiwan ini adalah antara haiwan yang biasa
dijumpai di Malaysia dan Uzbekistan. Haiwan lain yang terdapat dalam peribahasa kedua – dua
bahasa agak kurang popular dan tidak dapat dibuat perbandingan dalam kajian ini. Teori metafora
konseptual telah digunakan untuk menganalisis data dalam kajian ini. Data dianalisis
berdasarkan unsur silang budaya antara bahasa Melayu dan bahasa Uzbek. Kajian ini
mendapati terdapat perbezaan dalam perkonsepsian metafora haiwan dalam peribahasa Melayu dan
Uzbek kerana latar belakang budaya yang berbeza. Namun dalam perkonsepsian metafora yang menentukan
keagamaan terdapat persamaan dalam tandangan terhadap haiwan yang digunakan dalam kedua-dua
kelompok peribahasa Melayu dan Uzbek. Kesimpulannya, kajian perbandingan dalam
metafora Melayu dan Uzbek memperlihatkan kepelbagaian dalam penggunaan unsur haiwan
dalam peribahasa kedua-dua bahasa ini. Implikasinya, satu model kajian perbandingan bagi
mengkaji metafora konseptual antara pelbagai bahasa telah dihasilkan dan dapat dijadikan
panduan untuk kajian masa akan datang.
