Abstract : Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris |
Tujuan utama kajian ini adalah untuk mengkaji hubungan antara iklim sekolah dan
kepuasan kerja dalam kalangan guru sekolah menengah. Tambahan, kajian ini juga bertujuan
mengenal pasti pengaruh iklim sekolah yang paling dominan dalam mempengaruhi
kepuasan kerja dalam kalangan guru. Kajian ini mengunakan teori ekologi Bronfenbrenner.
Reka bentuk kajian tinjauan yang berbentuk “cross sectional” digunakan untuk mengumpulkan
data. Secara keseluruhan, 242 guru sekolah menengah dari Temerloh, Pahang dipilih untuk kajian ini
mengunakan persampelan rawak berstrata. Instrumen Organizational Climate Questionnaire yang
telah dibangunkan oleh Litwin dan Stringer (1968) dan telah diterjemahkan oleh National
Institute of Translation (ITNM, 2009) digunakan untuk mengukur iklim sekolah. Manakala
instrumen soal selidik Kepuasan Kerja Minnesota versi pendek yang telah dibangunkan oleh
Weiss, Dawis, England dan Lofquist, (1967) digunakan untuk mengukur kepuasan kerja guru.
Kajian rintis bagi instrumen kajian menunjukkan Cronbach Alpha iklim sekolah (0.76) dan
kepuasan kerja ( 0.70). Hasil dapatan kajian menunjukkan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara
iklim sekolah dengan kepuasan kerja guru dalam kalangan guru sekolah menengah dengan bacaan
korelasi pearson r = 0.73. Regresi berganda linear dilakukan untuk mengkaji sumbangan
signifikan dari lima iklim sekolah terhadap kepuasan kerja guru. Hasil kajian menunjukkan
bahawa struktur, ganjaran, hubungan mesra, sokongan dan identiti dalam iklim sekolah
mempunyai dapatan yang kepelbagaian terhadap kepuasan kerja guru. Didapati bahawa struktur
