Abstract : Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris |
Tujuan kajian ini ialah untuk mengenalpasti pengaruh empati terhadap sikap guru
disiplin dalam pengurusan kes buli di sekolah-sekolah menengah kebangsaan di Kuala Lumpur yang
meliputi Daerah Keramat, Sentul dan Bangsar. Kajian ini menggunakan reka bentuk tinjauan. Seramai
181 orang guru disiplin telah dipilih sebagai responden daripada 22 buah sekolah yang
dikategorikan sebagai ‘Hot Spot Schools’. Sampel kajian telah dipilih menggunakan kaedah
pensampelan rawak berstrata. Instrumen kajian terdiri daripada satu set soal-selidik yang
ditadbir kepada guru disiplin. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan inferens
seperti peratus, min, sisihan piawai, korelasi Pearson dan regresi. Secara keseluruhannya,
responden bersetuju (M = 3.84; SP = 0.55) bahawa mereka memiliki sifat empati dari aspek kognitif. Dari konteks afektif
pula, responden agak bersetuju (M=3.55, SP = 0.68) bahawa mereka mempunyai perasaan simpati
terhadap pembuli. Kebanyakan guru disiplin (M = 3.98; SP = 0.53) menunjukkan sikap
positif dan bertindak profesional dalam mengendalikan kes buli di sekolah menengah.
Namun, masih terdapat responden (M=2.92; SP=0.83) yang tidak menerima pelajar tersebut.
Dapatan kajian juga menunjukkan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan tetapi sederhana di
antara empati dan sikap guru disiplin (r = 0.392, p?0.05). Dapatan kajian juga menunjukkan empati
(β=.392, p?0.05), mempengaruhi sikap guru disiplin dalam menangani kes buli.
Kesimpulannya, dapatan utama kajian menunjukkan guru disiplin percaya bahawa mereka
memiliki sifat kognitif dan afektif dalam menangani kes buli. Faktor empati didapati mempengaruhi
sikap guru disiplin dalam menyelesaikan masalah buli. Implikasinya, dapatan kajian ini
dapat dijadikan garis panduan untuk melatih guru disiplin dalam mengendalikan kes buli
dengan lebih cekap. Hasil kajian juga boleh dirujuk oleh pihak Jabatan Pendidikan dan
Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia untuk merangka peraturan antibuli, program intervensi serta
langkah-langkah keselamatan yang baharu bagi mewujudkan persekitaran sekolah yang
selamat serta dapat meningkatkan bilangan guru disiplin yang berempati dari aspek kognitif dan afektif di Kuala Lumpur.
