The purpose of this study is to see the effectiveness on the application of Full System Semantic Theory and The Relevance Theory in the teaching and learning process in classrooms. The study used inventive research that is to record the teaching process directly. Besides recording, observation forms was used to record the context produced by teachers and students. Sample consists of teachers and students for subjects such as Bahasa Melayu, Geography, and Pendidikan Agama Islam. The students were from Form One, Form Three, Form Four and Form Five. The study was carried out in one of the secondary schools in Hulu Selangor district. Qualitative method was used. The results of this study indicates that both the theories was significant in the teaching processes because it was based on the context of the teachers. Contexts in teaching situations means the knowledge that the students already have. Besides this, the usage of implicators can be shown in the results of this study such as the function of implicators, implicators as a language strategy, frequent usage of implicators and the analysis of language behavior. Indian students were the least used of implicators in the teaching compared to Malay students. |
