Abstract : Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris |
Kajian ini mengenalpasti tekanan kerja dalam kalangan guru-guru Sekolah
Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil daerah Tangkak dan Muar, Johor. Kajian ini juga mengkaji kedudukan lima
faktor utama dari kerangka model kajian yang mempengaruhi tekanan kerja yang dialami oleh
guru. Selanjutnya, kajian ini juga mengkaji faktor peranan demografi terhadap tekanan
kerja guru- guru tersebut. Seramai 285 orang guru dari sepuluh buah sekolah jenis
kebangsaan Tamil daerah Tangkak dan Muar, Johor telah dipilih secara rawak sebagai
sampel kajian ini kerana terdapat banyak permintaan dari guru-guru SJK(T) dari daerah
ini untuk berpindah ke negeri lain. Penyelidik menggunakan Teacher Stress Inventory oleh
Boyle et al. 1995 sebagai instrumen untuk mengukur tekanan kerja guru manakala bagi
mengukur kedudukan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi tekanan kerja guru, penyelidik
menggunakan Self Report Teacher Stress oleh Dunham, 1992. Dapatan menunjukkan bahawa
seramai 66% guru mengalami tekanan kerja sederhana, 16.5% mengalami tekanan kerja rendah
manakala 17.5% guru yang mengalami tekanan kerja tinggi. Dapatan juga menunjukkan
bahawa faktor salah laku pelajar adalah faktor peranan demografi yang paling signifikan
iaitu 0.627 dari lima nilai faktor utama yang menyebabkan tekanan kerja guru.
Kesimpulannya, tekanan kerja memberi kesan kepada kepuasan kerja, keberkesanan ke atas
produktiviti guru, peningkatan ketidakhadiran dan persaraan awal guru. Penyelidik
mencadangkan agar pihak sekolah dapat mengambil langkah terhadap pelaksanaan polisi
disiplin yang mantap, memperlengkapkan kemudahan asas dalam membantu pembelajaran dan
pengajaran, pengagihan tugas yang sesuai dan peka terhadap perhubungan di antara
guru serta menganjurkan kursus atau latihan kemahiran pengurusan tekanan kerja di
kalangan guru.
