Tahun 2020 telah menyaksikan kehidupan sebilangan besar populasi dunia terjejas akibat pandemik COVID-19 yang diisytiharkan sebagai darurat kesihatan awam oleh Pertubuhan Kesihatan Sedunia (WHO). Malaysia juga turut terkesan dengan pandemik ini sejak kes pertama direkodkan berlaku pada Januari 2020 dan bilangannya yang terus meningkat di setiap negeri pada bulan-bulan berikutnya. Sehubungan itu, pihak kerajaan telah melaksanakan perintah kawalan pergerakan (PKP) untuk memutuskan rantaian pandemik ini. Namun, pelaksanaan PKP secara tidak langsung memberi impak yang begitu besar terhadap kelangsungan hidup semua lapisan masyarakat termasuklah warga emas terutamanya dari aspek daya tahan golongan ini. Justeru, makalah ini bertujuan mengkaji impak PKP terhadap daya tahan warga emas di Pulau Pinang dari aspek adaptasi dengan keadaan PKP di samping meninjau sistem sokongan yang tersedia untuk mereka. Kaedah temu bual mendalam dijalankan bersama 10 informan warga emas yang berumur 60 tahun ke atas. Hasil kajian mendapati bahawa hubungan sosial yang erat dan akses kepada aktiviti yang berkait dengan alam/persekitaran menjadi elemen penting dalam kelangsungan daya tahan warga emas ketika PKP. Kajian ini memberi gambaran dan kefahaman kepada masyarakat tentang daya tahan salah satu daripada golongan rentan ketika pandemik di samping menyumbang idea berkenaan intervensi kepada pihak pemegang taruh dalam melestarikan dan menyejahterakan hidup warga emas seiring dengan sasaran Matlamat Pembangunan Lestari (Sustainable Development Goals – SDG) yang ketiga, iaitu memastikan kehidupan yang sihat dan menggalakkan kesejahteraan pada semua peringkat usia.
