Abstract : Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris
Kajian ini bertujuan untuk meneroka pelaksanaan pengajaran apresiasi seni dalam kalangan guru Pendidikan Seni Visual (PSV) di sekolah menengah. Penerokaan meliputi aspek pengetahuan, kemahiran, pelaksanaan dan kesedaran guru PSV dalam melaksanakan pengajaran dan pembelajaran apresiasi seni. Kajian kualitatif ini menggunakan pendekatan kajian kes. Seramai lima orang guru PSV sekolah menengah dari daerah Gombak, Selangor telah terlibat dalam kajian ini. Kesemua partisipan ini terdiri daripada guru opsyen PSV dan mempunyai pengalaman mengajar melebihi tiga tahun. Kaedah pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui analisis dokumen, temu bual, dan juga pemerhatian. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan analisis kandungan berdasarkan Rubrik Penguasaan Apresiasi Seni. Rubrik ini menjadi alat untuk menilai penguasaan apresiasi seni kesemua partisipan. Data dianalisis dengan meneliti tema, subtema dan soalan kajian. Hasil kajian menunjukkan guru PSV di sekolah menengah mencapai beberapa tahap penguasaan apresiasi seni yang meliputi menguasai dengan baik, kurang menguasai dan tidak menguasai apresiasi seni. Selain itu kajian ini dapat melihat pengajaran apresiasi seni yang tidak konsisten antara partisipan kajian disebabkan oleh faktor-faktor seperti kekurangan berpengetahuan tentang apresiasi seni, kesuntukan masa untuk menghabiskan organisasi kandungan pengajaran dan lebih berfokus kepada penghasilan karya. Guru PSV sekolah menengah menggunakan pelbagai kaedah seperti memberi penerangan, tunjuk contoh, menyoal, bercerita, perbincangan dan pembentangan sebagai pendekatan pengajaran dalam menyampaikan ilmu apresiasi kepada pelajar mereka. Walau bagaimanapun, kualiti pengajaran apresiasi seni dalam kalangan guru PSV masih boleh dipertingkatkan demi memberikan keberkesanan yang maksimum dalam pengajaran mereka. Kajian ini juga mendapati bahawa tahap kesedaran tentang kepentingan pengajaran apresiasi seni dalam kalangan partisipan masih lemah. Diharapkan Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia dan agensi pelaksana mengambil perhatian dengan mendedahkan kepentingan apresiasi seni kepada guru-guru melalui penyediaan pelbagai bentuk latihan dari semasa ke semasa.   Kata kunci: Apresiasi Seni, Pendidikan Seni Visual, Rubrik Penguasaan Apresiasi Seni
