Abstract : Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris
Kajian ini bertujuan untuk menilai kepentingan falsafah tradisional Vietnam dalam perjuangan kemerdekaan Ho Chi Minh menentang Perancis. Ia memfokuskan tentang sumbangan falsafah tradisional Vietnam dalam menjayakan usaha perjuangan kemerdekaan pimpinan Ho Chi Minh 1954-1969. Kajian ini menggunakan metodologi sejarah yang bersifat kualitatif. Metodologi sejarah terdiri daripada empat elemen utama iaitu heuristik, kritikan sumber, pentafsiran dan penulisan sejarah. Proses heuristik yang utama dalam kajian ini adalah mengunakan kaedah kepustakaan, iaitu kajian terhadap sumber bertulis. Sumber bertulis yang digunakan ialah sumber primer dan sekunder. Sumber primer terdiri daripada dokumen tentang idea perjuangan Ho Chi Minh dan falsafah tradisional Vietnam. Ia termasuk teks ucapan dan ceramah, naskah puisi Nguyen Trai dan akhbar. Sumber kedua pula daripada jurnal, buku, majalah dan tesis yang tidak diterbitkan. Bahan yang diperolehi seterusnya dinilai dari segi kesahihan dan ketulinannya melalui kaedah kritikan dalaman dan luaran. Seterusnya data yang diperolehi ditafsir dan persembahkan dalam bentuk karya sejarah yang menekankan aspek sebab dan akibat serta perubahan dan kesinambungan sesuatu peristiwa. Hasil kajian menunjukkan kejayaan Ho Chi Minh dalam menarik penyertaan rakyat Vietnam dalam memperjuangkan kemerdekaan banyak dipengaruhi oleh kemampuannya dalam memanipulasi falsafah tradisional Vietnam melalui penulisan dan pidatonya. Pengaruh falsafah Nguyen Trai sentiasa kelihatan dalam setiap ceramah dan penulisan akhbar Ho Chi Minh, berjaya membangkitkan semangat perjuangan dalam kalangan masyarakat Vietnam. Implikasi kajian ini dapat membuktikan perjuangan sesuatu bangsa perlu berpegang kepada falsafah tradisionalnya yang telah berakar umbi dalam budaya sesebuah masyarakat. Oleh itu bagi melahirkan sebuah bangsa yang kuat pengajaran falsafah tradisional bangsa utama sesebuah negara perlu dimasukkan ke dalam sistem pendidikan formal untuk dipelajari dan dihayati oleh seluruh masyarakat.
