Abstract : Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris
The purpose of this study was to evaluate effect of heavy metals on the blood parameters, biochemical indicators, and histological changes in female Anabas testudineus) Bloch (1792). A total number of 200 female A. testudineus fish were exposed to (zinc chloride 2mg/L, lead chloride 2 mg/L, and copper chloride1.5 mg/L) for 35 days. The numbers of red and white blood cells were counted by using hemocytometer, while blood glucose and liver enzymes were measured by spectrophotometer. The concentrations of heavy metals in the muscles were determined by using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer. The tissues of ovary, liver, gut, and gills were collected and processed for histological analyses.
