Abstract : Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris
Kajian ini bertujuan mengukur kesan penggunaan aplikasi Plickers terhadap minat dan pencapaian pelajar dalam topik ekosistem bagi subjek Sains tingkatan dua di sebuah sekolah menengah di Ipoh. Reka bentuk kajian menggunakan kuasi-eksperimental dengan ujian pra dan ujian pasca. Dua jenis instrumen yang digunakan ialah soal selidik untuk mengukur tahap minat pelajar terhadap aplikasi Plickers serta set soalan formatif ujian-pra dan ujian-pasca yang terdiri daripada 30 soalan aneka pilihan untuk mengukur pencapaian pelajar dalam topik ekosistem. Sampel kajian terdiri daripada dua kelas pelajar tingkatan dua (n=64) yang dipilih secara pensampelan bertujuan. Sampel diagihkan kepada dua kumpulan iaitu 32 orang responden kumpulan rawatan dan 32 orang responden kumpulan kawalan. Ujian pra telah dijalankan sebelum pengajaran dan pembelajaran bagi kedua-dua kumpulan. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan pencapaian ujian pra adalah lebih tinggi secara signifikan bagi kumpulan kawalan (M = 50.16, SD = 11.084) berbanding kumpulan rawatan (M = 44.50, SD = 9.37), t (62) = 2.09, p = .041. Seorang guru telah dilantik mengajar kedua-dua kumpulan. Kumpulan rawatan diajar dengan menggunakan teknologi aplikasi Plickers manakala kumpulan kawalan diajar dengan menggunakan kaedah tradisional. Kajian berlangsung selama enam minggu dan diikuti dengan ujian pasca. Ujian-t digunakan untuk mendapatkan nilai min, sisihan piawai dan signifikan kajian. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan pencapaian ujian pasca adalah lebih tinggi secara signifikan bagi kumpulan rawatan (M = 62.56, SD = 16.394) berbanding kumpulan kawalan (M = 55.16, SD = 10.836), t (62) = -2.132, p = .037. Perbezaan min pencapaian di antara dua kumpulan ialah sebanyak 7.4 mata. Wujud perbezaan min secara signifikan dari segi pencapaian pelajar dalam ujian pasca bagi subjek Sains. Dapatan soal selidik menunjukkan skor min sebanyak 4.42 yang menunjukkan minat terhadap penggunaan aplikasi Plickers dalam subjek Sains. Secara kesimpulannya, kajian ini secara tidak langsung dapat membantu guru memperbaiki kaedah dan teknik pengajaran. Kajian ini memberi implikasi bahawa penggunaan aplikasi Plickers secara berterusan dapat meningkatkan keberkesanannya dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran Sains.
