Abstract : Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris
Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji tahap kesediaan dan pengetahuan bagi guru pelatih Fizik serta mengetahui sejauh mana pandangan bagi pendidikan STEM. Kajian ini telah melibatkan seramai 115 orang guru pelatih Fizik di UPSI yang terdiri daripada pelajar semester lima, enam dan tujuh Ijazah Sarjana Muda Pendidikan (ISMP) Fizik. Sampel ini dipilih menggunakan teknik pensempelan rawak mudah. Reka bentuk kajian ini adalah berbentuk kajian tinjauan dengan pendekatan kaedah campuran iaitu kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Instrumen soal selidik dan protokol temu bual telah digunakan dalam kajian ini. Hasil dapatan data kajian kuantitatif dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif iaitu kekerapan, peratusan, min dan sisihan piawai manakala bagi dapatan data daripada temu bual separa berstuktur pula dianalisis dengan menggunakan pendekatan analisis kualitatif oleh Miles dan Huberman (1994). Kajian ini telah memberikan satu pendedahan kepada institusi pendidikan khususnya bagi melihat sejauh mana tahap bakal guru pelatih terhadap kesediaan dan pengetahuan dalam pendidikan STEM. Dapatan data kuantitatif - min kesediaan 4.00 (s.p=0.35) dan min pengetahuan 4.16 (s.p = 0.54) yang mana merupakan interpretasi min yang tinggi. Data kualitatif menyokong data kuantitatif dengan menunjukkan bahawa guru mempunyai kesediaan dan pengetahuan yang baik. Kajian ini telah memberikan status tentang sejauh mana kesediaan dan pengetahuan tahap bakal guru pelatih terhadap pendidikan STEM.
