Gaya kepimpinan pengetua atau guru besar mampu mempengaruhi kejayaan sekolah sebagai organisasi pembelajaran dan prestasi kerja dalam kalangan guru-guru di sekolah. Sikap cakna pemimpin sekolah terhadap pembangunan kapasiti dan potensi kepimpinan guru yang mampu membuat kolaborasi dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan sekolah perlu diberikan perhatian. Kepimpinan sekolah perlu sentiasa dinamik dan inovatif bagi mengisi harapan masyarakat dan cabaran masa hadapan negara. Tugas pengetua di sekolah tidak terhad kepada kerja-kerja pentadbiran semata-mata, akan tetapi beliau juga perlu untuk menjadi penggerak kepada segala sumber yang berada di bawah seliaannya. Kepimpinan tradisional yang sebelum ini bercorak hierarki birokrasi perlu digantikan dengan gaya kepimpinan distributif yang memberi penekanan kepada pasukan, kumpulan dan ciri-ciri organisasi. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk membincangkan kerangka teori kajian berkaitan hubungan amalan kepimpinan distributif dan organisasi pembelajaran dalam kalangan pengetua terhadap prestasi kerja guru di sekolah menengah harian biasa di negeri Sarawak.
