Kajian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti ketakutan pelancong semasa acara hiburan di Kuala Lumpur iaitu Sambutan Ambang Tahun Baharu 2020 dan Tahun Melawat Malaysia. Kajian ini meneliti ruang yang difahami oleh pelancong sebagai menakutkan dan tidak selamat di kawasan pelancongan bandar Kuala Lumpur. Penyelidikan kualitatif ini menggunakan dua kaedah kajian iaitu temu bual dan photovoice. Temu bual separa berstruktur dijalankan bersama dua puluh dua (22) orang pelancong domestik dan antarabangsa. Tiga (3) orang peserta kajian bersetuju untuk melibatkan diri dalam photovoice dengan mengambil gambar perasaan takut mereka di ruang yang digunakan semasa menghadiri acara hiburan dengan menggunakan kamera pakai buang yang dibekalkan oleh pengkaji. Penganalisisan data kualitatif dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan perisian ATLAS.ti. Terdapat tiga (3) tema terhasil yang menunjukkan ketakutan pelancong daripada kajian ini iaitu; ruang yang sesak, laluan pejalan kaki yang gelap dan kewujudan manusia yang dilihat asing dan mengancam di ruang tertentu menyebabkan pelancong berasa tidak selamat semasa menghadiri acara hiburan di Kuala Lumpur. Dapatan ini berupaya untuk digunakan oleh pihak yang berkepentingan dalam penganjuran acara hiburan pada masa akan datang ke arah mewujudkan rasa selamat pengunjung di bandar pelancongan.
