Abstract : Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris
Objektif kajian ini bertujuan menganalisis hubungan pengetahuan sedia ada (PSA) dan sikap pelajar (SP) dengan pencapaian Kursus Ekonomi di Kolej Matrikulasi Zon Utara. 302 orang pelajar semester satu daripada tiga buah kolej matrikulasi terletak di Zon Utara dipilih sebagai sampel kajian melalui kaedah pensampelan berstrata. Instrumen kajian digunakan adalah borang soal selidik. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis inferensi ANOVA Satu Hala, korelasi Pearson dan ANOVA Dua Hala. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan wujud hubungan yang signifikan pemboleh ubah PSA, r (302, p = 0.000) = 0.234, p < 0.05 terhadap pencapaian Kursus Ekonomi. Tidak terdapat kesan interaksi signifikan antara pemboleh ubah PSA dan SP dengan pencapaian Kursus Ekonomi, F (2, 296) = 0.588, p > 0.05. Kedua-dua pemboleh ubah PSA, F (2, 229) = 0.748, p > 0.05 dan SP, F (2, 229) = 1.181, p> 0.05 menunjukkan tidak mempunyai perbezaan signifikan terhadap lokasi kolej. Keseluruhannya, hubungan positif yang sangat lemah serta saiz kesan interaksi sangat kecil antara pemboleh ubah PSA dan SP terhadap pencapaian Kursus Ekonomi telah dikenal pasti. Implikasi dari kajian ini membantu pensyarah matrikulasi menekankan kepentingan PSA dan SP terhadap pencapaian Kursus Ekonomi.
