Abstract : Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris
The purpose of this study is to find out the problems faced by secondary school students in reading with correct pronunciation and their reasons, and to improve the students' ability to read with correct pronunciation through Powtoon application. This study used only qualitative method. This study was conducted in a secondary school in Sungkai district of Perak state. For this study, ten secondary students were selected by the researcher and among them the students were subjected to the study and ten students were controlled. In this study observation, pre-test and interview methods were used to collect data. The researcher conducted activities for the students with the help of Powtoon application for five weeks to improve their reading ability with correct pronunciation. Initially, not all of the students surveyed in the pre-test achieved the ideal level. All the students scored very well with the help of Powtoon application after conducting the research activities. Therefore, the results of the study show that the students' ability to read with correct pronunciation has improved through usage of Powtoon application.
