2024 Article | The evaluation of problem-solving oriented e-module in learning computer-based subject Noor Hidayah Che Lah It is tough and challenging to learn several computer-based subjects via an online learning setting during COVID-19 for students from the education field. It required a lot of skills, techniques, understanding among students, and the ability to think critically to solve problems. To date, a lack of studies provides digital content as learning approaches to computer-based subject students for their learning via online learning. Thus, the problem-solving oriented e-module in learning computer-based subject via Facebook for Higher Education was proposed. An exploratory sequential research design (qualitative and then quantitative approach) has been used in this study. Research samples were selected based on purposive sampling (10 students) to find out what they needed from the e-module. Then, the module was developed based on ADDIE Model and problem-solving learning strategy. There were nine experts validated the e-module in terms of the ADDIE model approach, problem-solving approach, and..... 249 hits
2024 Article | Automatic Thread Insertion Kit Sewing (ATIKs) device for vocational fashion design student: Practical sewing application Wan Nurlisa Wan Ahmad The incorporation of technology is a consistent aspect of education, which is widely advanced through teaching and learning (T&L) in the industrial revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0) education technology. In this study, an automatic thread insertion set for sewing (ATIKs) was developed. The ATIKs device improves students' understanding and facilitates the process of sewing in fashion design subjects for high school curriculum. The device was programmed using an Arduino microcontroller board and open source Arduino software (IDE). The CDIO model is used as the basis for product development, which includes the steps from conception to design, implementation, and operation. The development for this product consists of the main components standard needle size, automatic thread, Arduino UNO R3, stepper motor, coil, and Arduino coding to control the movement. In addition, this product is relatively portable with its dimensions of 7 x 7 x 10 cm. A qualitative research method was applied using a list of ..... 382 hits
2024 Article | Student profiling for online learning during covid-19: A systematic review Noor Hidayah Azmi The Covid-19 epidemic has spurred significant changes in learning paradigms in several countries, including Malaysia. Particularly, the Malaysian government's Movement Control Order (MCO) forced both students and teachers to turn to online learning. It is true that its adoption is rife with fresh difficulties, including network coverage, device appropriateness, and socio-economic status of students, and digital competency, which makes teaching and learning at home incredibly difficult. Since students have a variety of learning needs, abilities, skills, and goals, it is crucial to develop learner profiles that can aid in the development of appropriate online learning approaches in order to address such issues. A systematic review of the most recent literature was conducted using three major databases: Scopus, ERIC, and Mendeley, as was envisioned in this context. The review helped identify 23 relevant publications that were then subjected to a thematic analysis, which helped reveal thre..... 585 hits
2024 Article | A study of attitudes, skills, and barriers among the special education hearing impairment teachers in the use of assistive technology in teaching Soon, Vestly Kong Liang In the context of special education, most of the special education hearing impairment (SEHI) teachers understand that the use of assistive technology (AT) is a necessity in teaching and providing opportunities for SEHI students to control and improve their learning. However, the question of the acceptance of SEHI teachers use of AT in teaching is not much discussed. The objective of this study is to examine the attitudes, skills, and barriers of SEHI teachers to the use of AT in teaching. This study was conducted in special education secondary schools (SESS) in Selangor, Penang, Pahang, and Kedah. The sampling used was a purposive sampling of four respondents, consisting of two male teachers and two female teachers. The design of this study uses qualitative approaches, and interviews are the methods used as research instruments. The result of the study was an analysis of content (content analysis) by presenting the exact sentence of the respondent. The findings show the SEHI teachers h..... 202 hits
2024 Article | Augmented Reality AR: An assistive technology for special education needs Wong, Kung-Teck Since 2017, the Ministry of Education has introduced Basic Vocational Skills subjects that able special students to master basic living skills in their schooling years underlying Secondary School Standard Curriculum – Special Education (KSSM –PK). The biggest challenge for individuals with ASD is to be independent and get jobs after schooling. Hence, beginning in 2017, Secondary School Standard Curriculum – Special Education (KSSM –PK) has introduced the Basic Vocational Skills subject, which students must master during their schooling years. From the preliminary study, many teachers revealed that they face difficulty delivering lessons primarily related to teaching and learning materials to enhance ASD students mastering living and vocational skills. Designing and developing effective teaching and learning aids, especially for children with special education needs are in alarming stages. Parents and caregivers indicated they face insufficient enhancement and practice learning ..... 461 hits
2024 Article | AR-speaking buddy: Designing content and user interface of an augmented reality (AR)-based application for Malaysian children speaking practice Marzita Mansor The application of augmented reality (AR) as a learning tool is crucial for incorporating virtual objects into real-world environments to support learners in their educational journey. Despite the growing interest in AR applications for learning, research in this area is still in its early stages, particularly concerning the development of AR applications tailored for children, taking into account their needs and design preferences. This study aims to gain insights into children's perspectives on interface and content design, specifically for augmented reality application development. By involving children in the design process, the study seeks to identify their interface design preferences for AR characters and explore the topics that interest them the most. To achieve these objectives, the paper outlines the development process of an AR mobile application named "AR-Speaking Buddy," which was designed by considering children's content needs and interface design preferences. The applic..... 349 hits

2012 Thesis | Validating a Malay version of loewensteinoccupational therapy cognitive assessment for geriatrics (M-LOTCA-G) Ahmad Kamal Mohd Natar The purpose of this study was to translate the LOTCA-G into a Malay language (MLOTCA-G) for assessing cognitive deficit among institutional elderly who undergo occupational therapy. LOTCA-G battery is being used by Occupational Therapist in Malaysia to identify the underlying cognitive deficits among elderly. The study was based on a single group test-retest design where 52 selected subjects (among elderly) have been tested for reliability and validity. The new version of LOTCA-G called M-LOTCA-G was compared with the original version and another cognitive screening instrument Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE) to examine its consistencies and abnormality interpretation. This study concluded that M-LOTCA-G is reliable as the Cronbach Alpha value is more than 0.9 and the overall reliability of the subtests are very good for 23 sub-tests that have been tested. This study also indicated that LOTCA-G and M-LOTCA-G are consistent in the subject performance. Subject’s performances have..... 419 hits
2023 Thesis | Development of dribbling speed instrument and analysis dribbling speed, relationship between anthropometric and physical conditions among Indonesian futsal players Rumi Iqbal Doewes Dribbling is the basic function of allowing players to maintain control the ball while running past opponents or accelerating into open space. This study aims to develop futsal dribbling sensor instrument (FDSI) based on the analysis of dribbling distance of futsal players in matches, evaluate the validity and reliability, and investigate the relationship between anthropometric factors and physical condition with dribbling speed. This study uses the research and development method. Researcher recruited 132 Indonesian futsal players with Age 19.5 _ 1.1 Years, Height 166.9 _ 5.8 cm, Weight 60.0 _ 8.6 kg. The results revealed that the average dribbling distance of futsal players in matches is 10.55 meters. The initial product in the form of 10 m x 4 m FDSI was revised and the final product was 10 m x 6 m. FDSI presents construct validity with value of Aiken V (0.80) > 0.69, participant acceptability is 93.18%. The concurrent validity of FDSI with the zig zag running test (recount = 0.70, ..... 667 hits
