The screening of self-care behaviour among Chinese ethnic with heart failure in Malaysia

This study aimed to determine the level of self-care behaviour among the Chinese ethnic with Heart Failure (HF) in Malaysia. A cross-sectional survey design was conducted with HF patients (N=80). The average age of participants was 61.39 years old (M = 61.39, SD = 15.88). Chinese version of Self-care Heart Failure Index version 6.2 were used in this study. Descriptive analysis such as mean and standard deviation were used to run the analysis. Current findings suggested that the self-care behaviour of Chinese ethnic HF patients in Malaysia is satisfactory adequate, with both self-care management and self-care confident having standardised scores of greater than 70. The studied population scored highest in self-care confidence. Hence, it is suggested that element of confidence is one of the important factors to be considered in future self-care interventions. This study is about the role implemented by the Town Planning Department on socio-economic development and development in the Kinta Valley district. The Kinta valley area is a rapidly developing area with socio-economic activities of agriculture and tin mining. The Lembah Kinta district town planning department is directly involved in the development plan of Ipoh town and the small towns in the Kinta Valley district because the town and small towns are the catalyst for the development and socio-economic activities of the community. The role of instructors in students’ attitude towards online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic: a case of tahfiz students

Purpose: The study aims to examine the role of instructors with regards to the attitude of tahfiz students towards online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. Design/methodology/approach: Data was obtained through an online questionnaire survey to gain tahfiz students’ perception on instructors’ roles and their attitude towards online learning. There were 109 responses received from tahfiz students in Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN). Findings: Microsoft Teams and Moodle are the most often utilised modes for teaching and learning and for tasmi’, whereas WhatsApp is the most favourable mode. The findings show that instructor’s enthusiasm is associated with the tahfiz students' attitudes towards online learning. Building online facilitating skills in the new normal

The sudden shift to remote teaching caused by COVID-19 pandemic has created a stressful and demanding context for teachers, specifically on the aspect of delivering remote instruction. This ascertained the challenges and opportunities encountered by 311 public basic education teachers attending different online training platforms and utilized the mixed method design in analyzing the data of the teachers’ online facilitation skills and used the scanning method in the data collection process. The challenges and opportunities they encountered was conducted through an unstructured interview via Zoom. The researcher-made questionnaires were sent to the teachers via email. Results revealed that teachers already had prerequisite ICT skills so the use of technology during the online training was not so much a threat in the enhancement of their ICT knowledge and skills except of the issues regarding very slow internet access and the lack of necessary and proper equipment and gadgets. Kajian ini dijalankan bagi mengenalpasti keperluan penggunaan bahan bantu belajar yang efektif, membangunkan kit BSV sebagai bahan bantu belajar dan mengenalpasti keberkesanan penggunaan kit BSV sebagai bahan bantu belajar dalam meningkatkan tahap penguasaan murid-murid tingkatan 2. The relationship between prosocial behavior and psychological well-being among undergraduate students

This study aimed to provide understanding on the significance of prosocial behavior and psychological well-being among undergraduate students of Sultan Idris Education University (UPSI). Undergraduate students (N=156) among 48 males and 108 females involved in this study. This is a quantitative study that use online survey method to obtain the data. The participants involved completed a set of questionnaire that consists of demographic information, Prosocialness Scale for Adults, and Ryff’s Scale of Psychological Well-being. The results of present study revealed that there is a positive correlation between prosocial behavior and psychological well-being (r = .30), and also a positive correlation between prosocial behavior and domain of psychological well-being of positive relations with others (r = .429) among undergraduate students of UPSI. The relationship between students needs and teaching method of teaching Arabic for economic and trade negotiation at Yinchuan university of energy

The economic globalization and the implementation of the One Belt and One Road initiative directly reflected the urgent needs of Arabic language talents. As a result, many universities and colleges opened Arabic for economic and trade negotiations (AETN). This course aims to cultivate such interdisciplinary talents in the Arabic language. However, this research explored the relationship between students’ needs and teaching methods which affected the teaching quality of the AETN. The study adopted a quantitative method and the data collected were analyzed through correlation by using the SPSS software. The research finding revealed that there were significant positive correlations between students’ needs and teaching methods in the teaching of AETN (r = .596, p < .01). The relationship between medication adherence and health-related quality of life among Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) patients

This study aimed to investigate the relationship between medication adherence and health-related quality of life among Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) patients. A correlational survey design was used in this study. The study was conducted through assisted questionnaire administration via face to face with 188 T2DM patients. The questionnaire used was the Medication Compliance Questionnaire (MCQ) and Diabetes Quality of Life revised version (DQoL-R). Descriptive analysis, Crosstabs analysis and Chi-Square test was used to run the data of this study. Result shows the average age of the participants were 64.60 years old and a significant relationship was found between medication adherences with the domain Worry in diabetes quality of life. In conclusion, this study may provide a significant finding on quality of life factors which also need to be appropriately intervene in order to improve medication adherence among type 2 diabetes patients in Malaysian health care. The perspectives of parents toward the practices of pre-school ethos during routine activities in PERPADUAN (Unity) Pre-school settings

The objective of this study to investigate the views of parents toward the practice of pre-school ethos on routines activities in PERPADUAN (Unity) Pre-school settings. The study involved 30 parents from three PERPADUAN Pre-school settings. A qualitative methodology was applied. In-depth interviews were conducted with the parents. The primary findings of this case study emergent: the data and quotes from parents shown an important view of a pre-school ethos that claims to be multi-ethnic. There are the similarities and differences between pre-school ethos in line with the parental norms and values from parents’ perspectives. For example, daily practices in the PERPADUAN Pre-school were acceptable. The common routine activities in pre-school day consist of the arrival time, morning assembly, hand-kissing, the salaam, the Rukun Negara (Malaysia Principle) and Negaraku (Malaysia Anthem), outdoor activity, and table manners during meal time. The lived experiences and non-formal education of Malaysian ‘Orang Asli’ (Native People) youngsters

Even though we have effectively completed a fifth of this new century, non-formal education through community-based learning and other traditional avenues of learning persist as powerful forces in the growth of the human lifespan, particularly for native peoples who have thousands of years of local knowledge. Focusing on Malaysia’s Orang Asli (native peoples), this study was conducted to map the field until a more detailed research project is undertaken for the next two years at the Royal Belum State Park in Perak State, Malaysia. Six Orang Asli adolescents (three females and three males) from two local higher learning institutions in Perak were interviewed individually and through focus group sessions regarding their engagement with non-formal education within their own communities, from when they were much younger up to this present time.
