Malaysia is committed to intensifying digital services to satisfy the demands and needs of today’s society. The Jalinan Digital Negara (JENDELA) (2020-2022) was launched to concentrate on home learning needs by expanding broadband access with more reliable internet coverage as one of the national agendas. Google Classroom is one of the learning management system applications that are the top choice employed in Malaysia. The application enables communication and discussion facilities to facilitate students to perform collaborative learning. Earlier collaborative learning researchers have often examined its influence on academic achievement. The effect of flipped instructional plan on student performance

This study is divided into two phases; development and validation of the instructional plan, and evaluation of student’s performance. In phase one, a flipped classroom instructional plan was developed for four topics of Management Accounting course. The content and learning activities in the instructional plan were based on the Malaysian Ministry of Education Curriculum Specifications for the Matriculation Department and also the First Principle of Instruction. The verification process had been conducted by three experts. The Percentage Calculation Method (PCM) was utilised to analyse the experts’ choice. The results of the expert evaluation showed that the overall PCM value of content validity was 93.33%. In phase two, a quasi-experimental design was conducted with 80 students enrolled in Management Accounting course. The development of teacher professionalism (PPG) is needed to boost the excellence of school institutions towards continuous and systematic improvement. The process of transformation and innovation desired by the Malaysian Education Development Plan 2013-2025 (PPPM) is able to realize the world-class Malaysian education system. The study aims to identify the level of PPG practice of secondary school teachers in the state of Selangor (Malaysia) and the implications for teachers' self-efficacy. Data were collected using a questionnaire adapted from the Malaysian Teacher Standard. Stratified random sampling according to the ratio was used in the selection of 384 respondents in this study. In Kelantan, the traditional pattern that existed in the designing the costumes for ‘Makyung’ exhibits the combination of organic and geometric styles. This balances and reinforces every produced design. The use of aesthetical values in designing patterns with underlying decorations is directly created to mirror the activities within its social community through resources that reflect their customs and culture. Based on the displayed designs, we can learn one branch in JKKN’s ‘Makyung’ performances in Kelantan. The commodification of religion as symbolic interactionism in advertising

The power of media is not to simply inform, but to transform the viewers’ beliefs, and to influence people positively and/or negatively based on their interpretations. Thus, this study was conducted to understand Islamic commodification signs on advertisement and to explore the effects of semantic noise interpretation based on the visual communication design meaning used. Symbolic interactionism and communication model are the two important theories in the visual field that are used as the main framework of the study. The study began with content analysis of 7 billboards as case study and continued with semi-structured interviews to get in-depth feedback from 12 informants. Maximum variation sampling was selected ranging from industry practitioner, educator to students from the same field. Thematic analysis is applied in this qualitative study, and subsequent analysis using symbolic interactionism theory in describing the result. The archers attitude towards sport psychology consultation

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of archer’ attitude towards sport psychology on the effectiveness of the intervention. The study involved 21 junior archers (age= 15.0 ± 1.7 years) from recurve and compound division of State’s level team. The archers were divided into three groups including psychological (P), psychological with physical fitness (P+PF) and control groups (CON). They were followed a 12-week intervention training program. Sport Psychology Attitudes-Revised SPA-R (Martin et al., 2002) was used to measure the level of attitude among the both experimental group (P) and (P+PF). The outcome variables were measured after the 12th week of the intervention. The athletes in this study reported a high score of confidence in sport psychology, which indicated that they have a positive attitude toward the sport psychology services (M=5.27, SD=0.69). The application of ‘role play in teaching stem subjects

The purpose of this paper is to examine the problems faced by students of the Science Stream focusing on one of the subjects in STEM, Biology. This study was implemented during “Program Perintis Guru 2” on January 2019 to February 2019. The study was carried out a total of 16 students of 4 Enggang 1, SMK Padang Enggang and a teacher was involved in this study. Initial reviews were conducted through verbal quizzes on teaching and learning sessions as well as subject teacher interviews. The results show that students faced difficulties in understanding and remembering topics because they were unable to imagine the shape or process of a cell. The students were exposed to theatre games during an hour of teaching and learning sessions and the study was conducted for 4 weeks. The application of solo taxonomy in writing module based on self and peer assessment for primary level in Malaysia: a pilot study

Students need to know their current levels of thinking and how to progress to the next level by self-assess themselves. Otherwise, they would constantly demand teachers to spoon-feed them to achieve a specific level. This is due to the students’ failure to master the lower order thinking skills level that hinder them from making systematic and strategic progress in their learning. The aim of this study was to evaluate a feedback of writing module based on SOLO taxonomy which apply self and peer assessment in their construction of writing development. To test the reliability of the module, a pilot study for the implementation of the module was conducted with the help of the English Language teacher who teach the remedial class in the selected school. The purpose of this pilot study is for ensuring the suitability of the module in terms of time allocation, clarity of instruction, suitability distribution of sub modules and organized activities. Teaching methods used by Tamil school physical education teachers

This study was conducted to identify teaching methods used by Bagan Datuk District Tamil schools' physical education teachers. Quantitative approach with a one-shot case study design was used for this study. Total of 60 physical education teachers from the Bagan Datuk district were chosen using the purposive sampling method as respondents. A simple questionnaire developed by the researcher was used in this study to collect the data. The data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that 66.7% of PE teachers apply the instructional method, 25% use the regular game's strategy, and 5% use the modified game's method. Analysis based on gender showed there were no significant differences. Both men and women teachers prefer to teach using traditional methods. Most of them said it's easy to teach in the traditional way rather than new methods because of no exam for physical education. In conclusion, most of the Tamil schools' Physical Education teachers are familiar with the instruction.....

Teacher readiness towards the use of mobile learning for dyslexia student: a survey in Malaysia

The education system in Malaysia has undergone a process of transformation. Recently, mobile learning (m-learning) has become a trend in education in this country. Face-to-face teaching and learning have shifted to online. However, research on the use of Mobile Learning (M-Learning) is still limited. Therefore, this study aims to identify the readiness of teachers towards the use of M-Learning for dyslexia students in terms of (i) Possibilities, (ii) Benefits, (iii) Preferences and (iv) External Influencers. Furthermore, this study also aims to identify the differences between teachers' readiness and gender towards M-Learning for dyslexia students. A total of 172 teachers throughout Malaysia have participated in this quantitative study. This online survey uses the Mobile Learning Readiness Survey (MLRS) instrument.
