Development of Rubric to measure children

This study aims to depict how academic expert evaluation was conducted to develop a rubric for measuring children’s 21st century skills when designing digital games. The 21st century skills that are related to game design are i) learning skills and innovation; ii) information, media and technology skills; and iii) life and career development skills. The rubric was developed based on cognitive, psychomotor and affective domains of learning. Six academic experts in the field of children’s education, educational measurement and educational technology for children were recruited as evaluators of this rubric. Cohen’s Kappa Coefficient formula was used to validate the results. The finding showed that each skill level should measure analytically and specifically based on game design activity. Education 4.0 is the inspiration of the Malaysia Education Blueprint 2015-2025 which is focusing on teaching and learning especially in terms of personalization of learning, quality education and learners as connectors, creators, and constructivist (Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia, 2015). Pre-service teachers’ mastery of the technological pedagogical content knowledge for teaching practice is deemed crucial in order for them to face the challenges apparent in the Industrial Revolution 4.0. The purpose of this study is to investigate how themastery of TPACK assists the pre-service English teachers with their teaching practice. The research design was mainly qualitative. This paper aims to provide a comprehensive literature review on the role of employability skills or generic skills in designing, integrating, and assessing curriculum in Malaysian higher education context. This study addresses the issue and challenges of integrating generic skills or employability skills in higher education context. Then the research gap on the lack of integrating generic skills in Malaysian higher education system is highlighted and the past studies which addressed the issue of integrating and assessing generic skills in Malaysian universities are reviewed. Defining Bullying among Students from Criminal Law Perspective: Comparison between Malaysia and the Philippines

School bullying is not new, but it has been a long and constant problem. Bullying issues are often reported in the mass media and have garnered attention not only in Malaysia but also abroad. Today, bullying can no longer considered as a trivial social problem that can be taken lightly. Failure to address this issue will have bad consequences for students in particular. Various ways have been introduced to tackle this issue and one of them is through the enforcement of law. This study will focus on the bullying within the legal framework in Malaysia, especially in the context of its definition. Studies showed that while in Malaysia, there are alarming statistics about bullying, but little attention has been paid to the absence of any specific law dealing with bullying in Malaysia. Practice of Fostering 4Cs Skills in Teaching and Learning

Mastering 4Cs skills which consist of critical thinking, communication, collaboration and creativity has become an important agenda in 21st century learning and education based on 4.0 revolutions. Therefore, this study was carried out to identify level of practice of fostering 4Cs skills in teaching and learning. This study was implemented on 84 teachers as they answered the questionnaire provided. According to descriptive analysis which applied calculation of mean and standard deviation, respondents were found to state agreement at high level in average on three of the 4Cs skills namely critical thinking (Min = 3.56), collaboration (Min = 4.02) and creativity (3.72) while moderate level on communication skill (Min = 3.25). The findings show that it is necessary to put great effort on teaching and learning in order to ensure the process of fostering 4Cs skills can happen optimally so that pupils will be able to master the skills effectively..

Kajian ini bertujuan menilai kualiti air bukit mengikut standard kualiti air minuman yang ditetapkan oleh Jabatan Alam Sekitar (JAS) dan Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (KKM) serta  menilai persepsi masyarakat terhadap kepenggunaan air bukit dalam kehidupan seharian. Lokasi kajian  kualiti air bukit adalah di enam lokasi di tiga negeri iaitu Bukit Putus, Kuala Pilah dan Kampung  Batu, Rembau di Negeri Sembilan, Kuala Kubu Bharu dan Ulu Yam di Selangor serta Taman Tasik,  Taiping dan Simpang Pulai, Ipoh di Perak. Kaedah yang digunakan dalam kajian ini ialah pengumpulan  data primer melalui kerja lapangan di lokasi kajian dan edaran soal selidik untuk mendapatkan  persepsi masyarakat tahap kepenggunaan air bukit. Pengaruh kepimpinan guru terhadap keberhasilan pelajar tingkatan enam di daerah Perak Tengah

Kajian  ini  dijalankan  untuk  mengenal  pasti  pengaruh  amalan  kepimpinan  guru terhadap keberhasilan pelajar dalam kalangan pelajar tingkatan enam. Kajian ini adalah kajian kes  yang menggunakan dua jenis instrumen soal selidik iaitu soal selidik kepimpinan guru dan soal  selidik keberhasilan pelajar. Populasi kajian ini terdiri dari 187 pelajar tingkatan enam atas di  daerah Perak Tengah. Berdasarkan jadual saiz sampel Krejcie dan Morgan, jumlah sampel adalah 123  pelajar. Pemilihan sampel kajian menggunakan teknik persampelan rawak mudah. Data kajian dianalisis  secara deskriptif dan inferens. Hasil kajian menunjukkan kepimpinan guru (min= 4.15, sp= 0.47) dan  tahap keberhasilan pelajar (min= 4.07, sp= 0.43) berada pada tahap yang tinggi. Namun kepimpinan  guru mempunyai hubungan yang lemah dengan keberhasilan pelajar (r= .238, p < .05). Hasil analisis  regresi linear mudah menunjukkan kepimpinan guru mempengaruhi keberhasilan pelajar (β=.238,  p=0.0.....

Kajian ini bertujuan untuk membangunkan modul pembelajaran berasaskan projek yang diintegrasikan dengan konsep Sains, Teknologi, Kejuruteraan dan Matematik (Modul PRO-STEM) dalam  topik Biodiversiti dan Ekosistem serta mengkaji kesannya terhadap kemahiran berfikir aras tinggi  (KBAT) dan kemahiran abad ke-21. Kajian ini menggunakan kajian reka kuasi eksperimen bagi menilai  keberkesanan modul. Pembangunan modul PRO-STEM adalah berpandukan Model Pembangunan Modul Sidek.  Modul PRO-STEM yang dibangunkan mempunyai kesahan dan kebolehpercayaan yang baik dengan indeks  kebolehpercayaan alfa Cronbach sebanyak 0.92. Kajian keberkesanan modul terhadap KBAT dan kemahiran  abad ke-21 dijalankan di sebuah sekolah menengah di daerah Batang Padang, Perak. Sampel kajian  melibatkan seramai 63 orang murid yang dipilih secara rawak kelompok, 33 daripadanya dalam kumpulan  rawatan manakala lagi 30 orang murid berada dalam kumpulan kawalan.
