This study aimed to determine the effect of sample thickness on optical trapping towards water-air interface. 3 µm polystyrene bead was diluted in deionised water and transferred to special test cell design to form 18, 70 and 141 µm. Bead was trapped by 975 nm laser from 20 to 220 kW/cm2 from the bottom glass-water interface towards water-air interface. The aim of this study is to examine teachers’ understanding and the level of implementation of authentic elements in their teaching of Malay language writing by focusing on the relations of the above factors (dependent variables) with three independent variables, namely school category, teachers’ experience and specialization. The research design of this study was based on a quantitative approach using a survey method. In this survey, a questionnaire was used to examine the level of implementation of authentic elements in the teaching and learning process of Malay essay writing involving Form-Two students (aged 14 years). Airport is a great place to exhibit local values and the spirits of a country. The purpose of this study was to explore how airports can become a potentially an immersive space that evokes the  local culture to create a sense of place for travellers. Nine international participants were  selected from Asia, Europe and America countries with different educational background. Qualitative  data collection methods included one month ethnographic observation, service design workshop and  interviews. The first phase of data collection methods consists of gaining customers’ insight from  various instruments such as persona, user journey map and role play simulation. These instruments  were applied to understand the customer’s journey and user experience from a specific persona’s  perspective. In this paper, the authors discuss the principles and models of authentic learning, which have been proposed by several leading experts in the field of authentic learning. Among the principles, authentic learning materials, authentic assessment, and teaching and learning activities based on the real world are the core principles shared by most models. In particular, the authors propose an authentic learning model that will be used for the essay teaching process in the classroom consisting of six important principles, namely actual (hands-on) learning materials, easily accessible learning sources that are realistic and tangible, emphasis on community input, outdoor activities, and freedom for students to express their views and interpretations, and authentic assignments. This study aimed to investigate the practice of language learning strategies (LLS) among two stakeholders in education (students and teachers) at the International Islamic University  Malaysia (IIUM) Matriculation Centre. The study used the mixed methods design to collect both  quantitative and qualitative data. The instruments used for the study were the Strategy Inventory  for Language Learning Strategies (SILL), interview protocol and classroom observation protocol.  Nine sets of lesson plans were also analysed. The respondents for the study were 300 students who  were divided into two groups consisting of 150 students who passed (EPT-pass) and 150 students who  failed (EPT-fail) the English Placement Test (EPT). Four English language teachers at the  institution also participated in the study. Kajian   ini   bertujuan   menentukan   kesan   simulasi   PhET   (Physics   Education Technology) terhadap pencapaian pelajar fizik tingkatan empat bagi topik Hukum Newton. Kajian turut  menentukan persepsi pelajar terhadap simulasi PhET dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran (PdP) fizik.  Kajian dengan reka bentuk kuasi- eksperimen ini melibatkan sampel kajian yang terdiri daripada 40  pelajar tingkatan empat. Sampel kajian dibahagikan dengan bilangan sama secara rawak kepada  kumpulan rawatan dan kawalan. Kumpulan rawatan diajar menggunakan simulasi PhET selama tiga minggu  manakala kumpulan kawalan diajar menggunakan kaedah konvensional. Kedua-dua kumpulan ditadbir  dengan ujian pra dan pasca. Soal selidik juga digunakan bagi memperoleh persepsi pelajar tentang  penggunaan simulasi PhET dalam PdP fizik. Data kajian dianalisis menggunakan ujian-t tak bersandar  dan statistik deskriptif. This study was aimed to discover the historical background of the Malaysian Tamil folk songs, to analyse the trauma and to evaluate the impacts of the trauma experienced by the  Tamil labourers during the British colonisation in Malaya as reflected in the Malaysian Tamil folk  songs. Qualitative approaches with historical, descriptive and explanatory designs were used for  this study. A total of 146 Malaysian Tamil folk songs that met the research objectives were  analysed. Historical trauma theory and thematic analysis were used to collect information from the  folk songs. Data were analysed using narrative and discourse analysis. Narrative analysis describes  the content of the folk songs while discourse analysis explains the usage of terms and words used  in the folk songs that can be related to the emotions and trauma.   Sequential teaching is essential for learning musical concepts for young beginners. There is a lack of Chinese teaching materials that sequenced according to a child- developmental  approach in Malaysia. While there are many singing materials written in the Chinese language, none  arranged in a sequential order, which Hungarian music educator Kodály believed is essential for  pupils to build or extend their musical vocabulary and musical concepts progressively. The purpose  of the study is to provide a set of sequenced Chinese materials for Year One Malaysian Chinese  pupils to be used by general music teachers who teach in Chinese primary schools. Zakat is one of the pillars of Islam that must be fulfilled by every Muslim individual. Zakat funds can be distributed to the asnaf, who are a group of people eligible to receive zakat. Despite the increase in zakat funds collected each year, there are still some issues of students dropping out from school due to poverty and miserable living conditions. The findings from this study informed us that 78.3% of teachers were ready and had positive views about the recommendation that the school should be appointed as amil by Majlis Agama Islam dan Adat Melayu Perak (MAIPk) to distribute the zakat funds to eligible students. This study had developed a zakat collection and distribution model with teachers paying zakat to the school (the agent) and the latter would hand over the funds to MAIPk. Next, the MAIPk would return some 25 to 50 percent of the funds to the school to be distributed to the poor and needy students.
