| 9162 | 2019 Article | Age group differences in political activism in Malaysia Norhafiza Mohd Hed There is a dearth of studies on age-related patterns of political activism in Malaysia, specifically on young people’s patterns of political participation relative to their elders, and in relation to the rich literature that has developed in Western democracies. By analysing survey data from Wave 6 (2010–2014) of the World Values Surveys (WVS), this study aims to investigate the differences in political engagement between younger and older people in Malaysia, including new repertoires outside the mainstream politics, by addressing the question of whether young Malaysians are more active in political activities compared to older groups. The findings conform to the expected patterns in the literature that young people are less likely to participate in conventional political activities than their respective elders. However, we find no significant differences for unconventional political participation. The study further shows that demographic indicators such as the levels of education,..... 2408 hits |

| 9165 | 2019 Article | Validity and reliability of Multimedia Interactive Making Clothes (MIMP) module for home science subjects Arasinah Kamis The purpose of this study is to evaluate the validity and reliability of the Multimedia Interactive Making Clothing (MIMP) module. It is developed for the teachers to learn and facilitate (LFc) the teaching of topics on the subjects of Home Science (HS) in the Malaysian schools. The design of the study is quantitative and the survey method is used to collect data. The MIMP module has been certified by eight experts in the relevant fields of HS Education, ICT and Malay Language. A total of 37 HS students from Miri Sarawak Division were selected to test the reliability of the module activity by evaluating the effectiveness of LFc in each teaching session. The findings show that the module has a good validity of 82.5% and high reliability with an Alpha Cronbach value of .92. However, some aspects need to be improved so that the developed module can meet the objectives for which it has been designed. The findings of the study would be useful to other researchers who intend to develop other..... 1638 hits |
| 9166 | 2019 Article | The effect of implementing the green skills module on design technology subject: assessing the pupils Arasinah binti Kamis This study examines the effect of implementing the Green Skill (GS) in Design and Technology (DT) subjects to assessing students’ green practices. This quantitative study uses a quasi-experimental technique to evaluate 62 year-five primary school students: group of treatment utilising the GS Module, and the control groups without GS Module. A GS practice rubric test was conducted to measure the performance of the students after they had practised the GS. The GS practice - questionnaires were only answered by the treatment group after using the module for nine weeks. The analysis results of the t-test show that the level of GS practice between the male and female students is almost the same and at a good level. The MANOVA's findings show that there are no significant differences of the Waste practice, 3R and water usage of green skills between male and female students. These clearly shows that the practice of the two groups are at the same level and good. Conclusion, that GS can be in..... 2059 hits |

Teaching module is one of the elements that can help in the teaching and facilitating process for a subject. Therefore, in designing a module, a development model that contains thorough and systematic phases and processes is crucial. The aim of this article is to discuss the use of ADDIE development model in the development phase of Green Skills (Gs) teaching module for the Design and Technology (D&T) subject at primary schools. This is because ADDIE model is among the design models that are systematic and effective, comprising five phases which are analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. The use of ADDIE model is suitable in developing the Green Skills teaching module because it is systematic and complete as it has five sufficient steps so that the results meet the desired objectives and makes the teaching and facilitating process more effective. .. 2730 hits |
