963 | 2023 article | Identification of cooperative learning component in designing lesson plan for building drawing subject in vocational colleges Mohd Firdaus Mustaffa Kamal Cooperative learning is a student-centered learning technique that can be considered a learning strategy for improving student performance both intellectually and in soft skill acquisition. Changes in curriculum structure in vocational institutions, because of the TVET transformation in 2012, have had an unforeseen influence on teaching and learning, whereas in the prior framework, a detailed teaching guideline was supplied compared to the latest structure. Teachers with inadequate knowledge and experience in learning strategies struggled to execute the new curriculum structure due to the lack of depth in these recent curriculum structure. This may be seen in the case of construction drawing subjects, where there were originally 14 main topics but now there are just four. Thus, the goal of this research is to help these teachers by offering a guideline for creating lesson plans that use a cooperative learning strategy. The aim of this paper is to identify and highlight the important co..... 81 hits |
964 | 2023 article | Inspecting histamine isolated from fish through a highly selective molecularly imprinted electrochemical sensor approach Mohamad Syahrizal Ahmad Numerous analytical approaches have been developed to determine histamine levels in food samples due to its health consequences. Consuming histamine over the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-regulated 50 mg kg-1 limit would result in chronic toxicity. Consequently, the present study discusses a novel electrochemical approach to evaluate histamine levels in fish products via a molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) on an electrode surface. The film was produced with electropolymerized polyurethane (PU), which maintained the histamine compound. Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy was applied to verify the MIP manufactured in this study. The capability of the polymer was measured by assessing its electron shifts with cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). Differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) was also employed to validate the sensing method. The MIP/screen-printed electrode (SPE) and non-imprinted polymer (NIP)/SPE recorded a linear response ran..... 80 hits |

966 | 2023 article | Gellan gum and pectin-functionalised magnetic graphene oxide nanocomposites as nanocarriers for permethrin to control mosquito larvae Azlan Kamari In the present study, the efficacy of gellan gum-magnetic graphene oxide (GG-GO-Fe3O4) and pectin-magnetic graphene oxide (PEC-GO-Fe3O4) nanocomposites as nanocarriers for permethrin to control Aedes aegypti larvae was investigated for the first time. The physicochemical properties of the nanocomposites were studied using various scientific instruments. The ability of GG-GO-Fe3O4 and PEC-GO-Fe3O4 to load and release permethrin in vitro system was determined using an ultravioletvisible (UVVis) spectrometer. FTIR analysis has demonstrated the change in intensity and wavenumber of absorption bands, confirming the successful encapsulation of permethrin into the nanocarriers. Based on STEM analysis, the highest increment in size of nanocarriers (85%) was obtained after permethrin loading. The nanocarriers prolonged the release of permethrin up to 16h. The release profiles of permethrin from nanocarriers in rainwater were best fitted by Korsmeyer-Peppaskinetic model with correlation coeffici..... 49 hits |
967 | 2023 article | A systematic rank of smart training environment applications with motor imagery brain-computer interface Suzani Mohamad Samuri Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) research is considered one of the significant interdisciplinary fields. It assists people with severe motor disabilities to recover and improve their motor actions through rehabilitation sessions using Motor Imagery (MI) based BCI systems. Several smart criteria, such as virtual reality, plays a significant role in training people for motor recovery in a virtual environment. Accordingly, Smart Training Environments (STEs) based on virtual reality for MI-BCI users provide a safe environment. They are cost-effective for real-life conditions and scenarios with severe motor disabilities. Fundamentally, the literature presents a lack of comparison of the STE applications considering the smart and effective criteria of the developed applications.
