Komunikasi yang berkesan berupaya mewujudkan kefahaman dalam kalangan muridmurid terhadap sesuatu isi pelajaran atau sesuatu konsep matematik. Kajian ini bertujuan mengkaji kesan komunikasi terhadap perkembangan kefahaman matematik dalam kalangan murid. Kajian ini memberi penekanan kepada analisis jenis komunikasi yang digunakan dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematik dan analisis komunikasi yang memberi kesan kepada perkembangan kefahaman matematik murid. Analisis ini dijalankan secara kualitatif. Proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran dimulakan oleh guru agar murid mengetahui objektif pembelajaran. Murid kemudian diberikan lembaran kerja dan diminta menjawab secara berkumpulan bagi menyelesaikan masalah yang diberi. Murid diminta untuk berkomunikasi dan berhujah bagi mendapatkan jalan penyelesaian. This study investigated the use of collaborative learning to enhance mathematical understanding among elementary students. This study will give an overview on the usage of collaborative learning in mathematical teaching and learning as an interactive and interesting alternative approach that helps in enhancing mathematical understanding of learners. Mathematics may be regards as hard and difficult subject by most learners as they tend to be learning this subject in more traditional approach. This study investigated the effect of peer interaction on mathematical understanding during learning activities among primary school students. This study gives an overview of how peer interaction impacts student understanding of mathematics. It enlightens educators and learners on the importance of communication in the teaching and learning process, especially in mathematics. The objectives of this study are to investigate students’ peer interaction during learning activities and to study the effects of their interaction on their understanding of mathematics while completing their mathematics group tasks. This study employed the qualitative approach. Four Year 5 students, aged between 10 and 11 years old, have been selected through purposive sampling as respondents. The data collected were the recorded videos of the mathematics lessons on the selected subtopics.
