Cerita Rakyat lokal dan folklore adalah bagian dari budaya tradisi Melayu yang telah menyebarkan dan diwariskan dari satu generasi ke generasi, kini telah direpresentasi ke dalam bentuk-bentuk barn, yang melibatkan visual dan indera manusia yang lain. Penelitian ini membahas tentang kondisi pemahaman dan imajinasi generasi barn ini masih sarna seperti abad awal dan bagaimana penerimaan manusia, menjaga tradisi dan kebiasaan kebudayaan tapi dalam proses adaptasi dan meningkatkan kemampuan yang layak dengan kematangan peradaban. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami secara menyeluruh bentuk, perlambangan dan makna yang terdapat dalam hikayat setempat dan diterjemahkan dalam animasi berasaskan kepada teori kebudayaan, fenomena yang berkaitan erat dengan sistem kebudayaan, sistem tanda dan makna dan narasi simbolik. Students’ satisfaction on the design of kawaii style pedagogical agent in the virtual learning environment

A pedagogical agent is an on–screen virtual character that is used to serve instructional purposes in virtual learning environment (VLE). Of late, research about pedagogical agents has received increasing interest among researchers, but still there is little research on the facial appearance of animated pedagogical agent. Facial design of pedagogical agent is a key method to achieve believability among students. Pedagogical agent with more ideal facial design has greater motivational impact. Notably, a “cute” looking face is very essential as audience identifies with it the most. The term “cute” reminds one of the famous Japanese cultural term which is known as kawaii. Hence, this study aimed to develop kawaii design of pedagogical agent and look at its effect on students’ satisfaction in VLE. Pedagogical agents are animated virtual characters that play human instructional roles in educational settings. Towards the advancement of computer technology and communication, human learning is becoming more advanced by using technologies such as pedagogical agent. Previously, the look of pedagogical agents has been designed with own imagination of the designers without assessing its impact on the learning. In addition, there are limited researches on the visual appearance of pedagogical agent.
