1 | 2021 article | Adjustment and application of the band gap of nano titanium dioxide: its usefulness on photo degradation of wastewater (phenol) AlSalih, Moatasem A high concentration of phenol and its derivatives were found in the surface water of the Euphrates River in south Iraq?s Nasiriya city causing its pollution from the wastewater derived from different chemicals. This study includes modification of the TiO2 (anatase) bandgap by doping with platinum atoms using the sol-gel method. The modification would reduce the gap separating energy levels between conduction band CB and valance band VB, which in turn, would facilitate the transfer of excited electrons from VB to CB. Absorption of the energy from incident photons having the same or larger energy than that of the bandgap would promote the formation of the couple (electron-hole). The resulting (e-/h+) couple would act to produce (OH) radicals. OH radicals haze a power with full capacity to destroy organic pollutants in the water that are absorbed on the surface of the photocatalytic TiO2. The structure of prepared TiO2 powders was dulcified using XRD, the particle size and their distribu..... 667 hits |
2 | 2021 article | Cellular total lipid peroxidation, and glutathione S transferase levels in larvae and pupae of aedes aegypti with catalysts preparation of Mg-doped tio2Nanoparticles Moatasem Alsalih Aim: synthesis, characterization, and application of modifying nanocomposite TiO2 doped with Magnesium for photodegradation of antioxidant system Larvae and Pupae of Aedes Aegypti Catalysts Preparation of Mg-doped TiO2 to determine activity of oxidative stress (MDA) and glutathione S Transferase, were known as a parameter of defense system resistance and immune maintained. This study was undertaken to assess the potential role of growth of stages of Aedes Aegypti correspondence with oxidant and antioxidant balance triggered by nanoparticle exposure. The amounts of these parameters in cellular samples were investigated using the following materials and procedures, intake 100 larvae and 100 pupae as subjects with (study subjects) and 3-9 days' age-matched with healthy subjects as controls. at the second of the admission, as a marker of lipid peroxidation, and therefore an indicator of the activity of standard free radicals Nanoparticles Photo Catalysts, TiO2 doped with Mg, the standard p..... 637 hits |
3 | 2021 article | Synthesis, properties and application of titanium dioxide doped with nitrogen. its effectiveness on photo degradation glutathione-s-transferase (GST) enzymes pupae instar of aedes aegypti Alsalih, Moatasem The sol-gel method was used to create N-doped TiO2. From the characterization results, it was found that N-doped TiO2 using Titanium(IV) ammonia solution and calcination tetraisopropoxide 600 K provided the most appropriate properties for acting as the photo catalyst can be use as inhibitor of GST. SEM, AFM and XRD results indicated that this N-doped TiO2 catalyst had high crystallinity because its titania precursor was simply hydrolyzed completely so no organic contents blocked initial phase construction. SEM and AFM results demonstrated that its surface morphology was spherical like fluffy powders. Moreover, with increasing calcination temperature, its anatase-to-rutile phase transformation was retarded by the incorporated nitrogen. Elemental Analysis and UV-Vis/DR results also suggested that nitrogen could be dormant in the TiO2 lattice with strong bonds, causing the effect on the band gap structure by adding energy states nearly valence band of TiO2. All of these properties enhance..... 555 hits |
