Abstract: Dictionary is used to know the meaning of words. In earlier times ‘Nigandu’ s were used for this. The present-day dictionaries are of great use to language learners and Tamil enthusiasts. Dictionaries are also very useful for vocabulary building. Dictionaries have been instrumental in the development of language.
