This research aims to address the effectiveness of written expression among secondary school students in state of Kedah, Malaysia by adopting the skill of creative thinking, and this research seeks to clarify the level of writing among students at this stage. Also the research looking for the ways and efforts to upgrade this important language skill. The fact that the level of Malaysian students in this skill is very weak, and there are a multiple reasons for this weakness, this research find out three of them: firstly, there is no enough training that can help the teacher to be able to reach proficiency in teaching skill of written expression. Secondly, there are no many books available in this field. Third, the impact of poor teaching method.
