This study investigates the effectiveness of the Apron Storytelling Approach in teaching English grammar to ESL students. The primary objective is to enhance student motivation and grammatical proficiency through an engaging, narrative-based methodology. Employing an explanatory sequential mixed-methods design, the research involved 40 Year 3 students from two schools in Perak, categorised into experimental (Apron Storytelling) and control (rule-driven) groups. Data was collected via pre-tests, post-tests, student perception questionnaires, and semistructured interviews that were conducted over eight weeks. The quantitative results demonstrated a significant improvement in grammar achievement for the experimental group, as evidenced by the pre- and post-test scores. Qualitative data from interviews further revealed that students found the Apron Storytelling Approach more interactive, relatable, and enjoyable compared to traditional rule-driven methods.
