| 1 | 2021 Thesis | The effect of inter-repetition rest duration on kinematic and kinetic of snatch Kevin Tan Controlling and manipulation of inter-repetition rest (IRR) could develop diverse levels of fatigueÂ
and manifest changes to lifting mechanics. The objective of this study was to examine the effect ofÂ
IRR on kinematic and kinetic of snatch lifting during multiple set exercise protocol. Fifteen maleÂ
(n=15) athletes participated in this study (age = 21.0 ±
1.41 years; body weight = 60.82 ± 2.45 kg; height = 165.70 ± 10.88 cm; snatch one- repetition Â
maximum (1RM)/body weight = 0.73 ± 0.117). Session 1 consisted of anthropometric and 1RMÂ
determination. Sessions 2-4 involved subjects performing 3 sets x 5 repetitions of 85% 1RM Â
with 10, 30, or 50 seconds of IRR implemented randomly. Joint angle displacement, jointÂ
velocity, ground reaction force (GRF), and barbell velocity (BV) were obtained during each Â
protocol using VICON Motion Analysis  (100Hz)  and  AMTI  force  plate. Â..... 980 hits |
| 2 | 2024 Article | Cities in bloom navigating the journey of urbanization in Malaysia towards sustainable futures Azli Abdullah ABSTRACT Malaysia has become one of the most urbanized countries in Southeast Asia over the past few decades. This rapid urbanization has changed the social, economic, and environmental landscapes due to several factors such as population growth, economic development, and rural-urban migration. Therefore, this paper explores the evolving landscape of urbanization in Malaysia and emphasizes the urgent need for effective urban design and planning strategies to tackle the challenges of rapid growth. This study employed content analysis to examine established urban design theories from influential thinkers like Kevin Lynch, Jane Jacobs, Daniel Burnham, Le Corbusier, Janette Sadik-Khan, and Nabeel Hamdi to uncover valuable insights for enhancing urban environments. This method was selected because of its ability to systematically interpret textual data within its context. Key themes include the importance of creating mixed-use neighborhoods, designing pedestrian-friendly spaces, engaging co..... 123 hits |
