Cai Yuanpeis cross-border experience in Nanyang and overseas Chinese educational context (In Chinese)

Cai Yuanpei had conducted many overseas studies and investigations before and after the Revolution of 1911 and the May Fourth Movement. Despite many studies on his experience of studying in Europe and the States, the academic circles lacked attention to his experience of staying in Nanyang while he traveled between China and the West. In fact, Singapore and Penang of Nanyang were the main ports at the time, they were the essential waterway between the Asian continent and the western world. Cai Yuanpei passed through the region for a few times during his visitations to Europe and the States. This article traced back a number of transits and entries of Cai Yuanpei to Malaya and his footsteps including his schedule, activity, speech and his interactions with local Chinese people, and then analyzes the significance of his transit and activities from the perspective of overseas Chinese society. Project-based learning (PjBL) emerges as a model that meets the needs of both teachers and students in teaching and learning a foreign language effectively. PjBL in the field of Mandarin as Foreign Language (MFL) are still new. This article with the aims to discuss the definition and the benefits of PjBL. Study on the influence of Chinese traditional culture on corporate environmental responsibility

In accordance with the theory of informal institutions, culture exerts a crucial influence on the enactment of corporate social responsibility. Based on the two core variables of Chinese traditional culture and corporate environmental responsibility, we designed a panel data model to investigate the impact of Chinese traditional culture on corporate environmental responsibility and its heterogeneity. The findings indicate the following: 1) Chinese traditional culture can promote the performance of corporate environmental responsibility. 2) Chinese traditional culture has a heterogeneous influence on the environmental responsibility of enterprises that depends on the ownership difference of enterprises; that is, the influence of traditional culture on the environmental responsibility of state-owned enterprises is stronger than that of non-state-owned enterprises. 3) Chinese traditional culture has a heterogeneous influence on the environmental responsibility of enterprises according to .....

The “Going to the Underclass” Movement in Malayan Chinese Society and the Rise of Folk School During the May Fourth Period

Purpose Previous research on the role and impact of the “May Fourth Movement” in Malaya has often portrayed the movement as historically inevitable, but it often lacks direct historical factual support and dialectical associations, particularly in studies related to education and intellectual trends. This article focuses on “folk school” to explore how early Chinese Intellectual dissemination “going to the underclass” within Malayan Chinese society, which was an immigrant society primarily composed of illiterate people and lacking cultural institutions and intellectual classes.
