The present study aims to develop an ELT textbook evaluation checklist for EFL senior high school teachers in Indonesia as a guideline to ensure the use of commercially-produced ELT textbooks in Indonesia serves its purpose. This study employed Design and Development Research (DDR) method and used mixed-method research design for the data analysis. The research was conducted in three phases namely: 1) Phase 1: Design and development, 2) Phase 2: Validation, and 3) Phase 3: Implementation. Document analysis, semi-structured interview and questionnaires were used to gather the data. Interview with EFL teachers and document analysis were conducted to develop the proposed checklist.
